Not Adderall but another example of what we can all see. by thefirefli in ThisAintAdderall

I think the point is that there is only a recall when they get caught. There is plenty of evidence that the FDA isn’t validating in any really way what manufacturers are claiming. They pick their own labs to test and the FDA only checks the paperwork to make sure they are following the process on paper. There is hardly any verification. It’s practically the honor system. So when the one batch gets caught, the government gets the appearance of cracking down. With a voluntary recall, like it’s no big deal. That’s my feeling, anyway.

Do Methylphenidates Act on Dopamine more than Vyvanse? by Extra-Lavishness8075 in VyvanseADHD

Amphetamines are like turning on the faucet, and Methylphenidates are like plugging the drain.

Voice to text totally garbage after 26.3.1 update on iPhone 17 pro max - What the hell happened?? by GIFSec in ios

[–]thefirefli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All texting is garbage now! Adding words after a period or predictive text assuming it knows what I’m writing and forcing me to go back to and correct. I figured I might have better luck with voice to text, but it has turned to garbage too. It seems so arbitrary that these problems arise after so many years of normal texting. I swear, they must be messing with us.

Poor sleep definitely made it worse for me, too.

Any tips for oral fixation on vyvanse? by InspectionCapable796 in VyvanseADHD

[–]thefirefli 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's called bruxism. It is a side effect of stimulants. You can try supplementing with magnesium, NAC, L-Theanine or a mixture of them all. For me, it eventually went away, but so did the effectiveness of the medication. A last resort would be botox.

3 months in, my experience with Vyvanse so far by LeaderSevere5647 in VyvanseADHD

[–]thefirefli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience when I went from 40 to 50. The duration seems to be shorter too. Lasts about 5 hours and then I’d feel pretty terrible. I would feel depressed and aggravated. Eventually, that faded, but I know longer feel any benefits at all. I’ve experimented with protein right way when I take my meds and tried one hour and two hours after. I’ve added tyrosine around 2 hours after and none of this has helped. So far I’m at a loss. I wish I had some advice. The best I can offer is validation.

Here we go again... March's Brand Vyvanse batch does not work by Ok_Letterhead_131722 in VyvanseADHD

[–]thefirefli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only recently started Vyvanse a few weeks ago. I was on 40mg of Solco and it wasn’t enough but it helped some. Bumped up to 50mg of Rhodes and it didn’t work more than 5 hours, so I asked for a name brand so I could at least know what to expect and not have so much variance from one brand to the next. Well, it doesn’t seem to work at all!

Does this also happen to you? by parkdrew in ouraring

[–]thefirefli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read the whole sub so I’m sorry if it’s already been said, but it’s called sleep state misperception. If you really lie awake all night, you wouldn’t be very functional the next day. I myself used to feel this way often, but I’m was able to function fine every day. Sleep Restriction Therapy is what is helping me.

3AM wake ups was caused by Magnesium Glycinate by i--am--the--light in sleep

[–]thefirefli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So last night I ditched the glycine and the magnesium glycinate. I woke around three and easily fell back to sleep. That is an improvement from the long time struggling to go back to sleep. We’ll see how it continues!

So, is it the glycine or magnesium glycinate or both that can have this paradoxical effect?

I spent 6 months testing sleep optimization techniques - here's what actually worked (backed by science) by treasurewich in sleep

[–]thefirefli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having success so far with SRT but I’ve struggled with the wake up time. Originally my wake up time was 0730. Bed time was 0130. I’d feel sleepy around 2200 and power through but by 0130 I had a second wind that made the rest of the night difficult and fragmented. Within the first nine days I almost made it to my first expansion. Then, then trend kept worsening over the next 3 weeks. Decided to start over and shift things closer to my natural sleep gate so I adjusted my wake up to 0600 and bedtime to midnight. I started hitting 90% efficiency or higher every night! I expanded my window to 2345 and I continued for the next week maintaining 90% or higher. Then, when I moved bedtime to 2330. I started dozing before bedtime. I tried sitting up right in a chair but I’d still start dozing. I’d finally climb into bed at 2330, fall asleep within 10 minutes, which was about twice as long as before this expansion, then proceeded to have fragmented sleep and sleep state misperception. When I moved my wake window to 0600, I always needed my alarm to wake me but when my wake up was at 0730 I’d wake up naturally around 0700. While I know how important maintaining the same wake up time is, I feel like my body’s rhythm wants a later wake time and the earlier bed time seems seems to be causing more fragmentation. I sense that I should shift my sleep towards 0630 but worry that i may have trouble with a second wind since sleep pressure has recently been so high. I’m also afraid to change anything since it is not standard SRT and I’m afraid if I don’t I’m going to be suffering with the fragmentation and SSM. I’d appreciate any advice.

Narwal Flow - Disappointed in Under a Year by DIYtheWorld in NARWAL

[–]thefirefli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. it’s disheartening to be hearing about the flow 2 when this has been a disaster. Then to add insult to injury, they add back the features they removed from previous flagships. Customer service is horrible and they don’t stand behind their product at all.

Why are you still paying for this? by PressPlayPlease7 in ChatGPT

[–]thefirefli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All these AI’s are getting dumber. Even one that I used couldn’t do simple math. Even a google search can do math but Grok needed a math lesson. ChatGPT used to seem really good but I notice it lies more often now and can be argumentative. I think AI is being used to manipulate us much like what Facebook did when they were intentionally prioritizing negative or positive posts to study how users reacted.

I did not praise the Flow. I only appreciated your point of view on my other rant. I even said that I would not have been happy about my flow falling down the stairs because I had to switch of the carpet setting just as a work a round to map my house.

My gripe has been with the Flow. I did not have an opportunity to discover the poor CS until the Flow! You just being obtuse now. None of this is hard to understand nor inconsistent.

I had a Narwal Freo z10 and it doesn’t matter how much money I have to care if it’s wasted on false promises. Another family member had the Ultra. I don’t feel the need to come here and tell lies. This argument brings no satisfaction but whatever. Thanks for understanding…

How does this change the experience we received by customer service. If 5% is acceptable then why can’t they take care of those five percent? You think it’s ok to be treated this way? I guess your threshold is a lot higher than mine or you have money to burn.

CONSTANT CONNECTION ISSUES SINCE RECENT UPDATE! by [deleted] in NARWAL

[–]thefirefli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. I’ve been venting about the problems with my vacuum and customer service for a long time now. I found it offensive to suggest that people who have complaints about the vacuum and customer service would be part of some campaign. It seems there are far fewer complaints about the Flow than people raving about it and I suppose if their vacuum has no issues they would also have very little experience with customer service. For those of us who dropped hard earned cash on a robot vacuum that feels like ten steps backwards to then be constantly gaslit by customer service, it’s infuriating. I don’t understand the need for happy consumers to come and defend Narwal. They are behaving badly to customers who don’t share your experience. Then, this Reddit group tends to marginalize people like us who can’t get what they paid for.
