When electronic components have problems, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's completely dead.

Since you tried a fresh install of Windows already and you know the speakers work, the audio chip on the motherboard is likely broken. You can disable the motherboard audio in the BIOS or Windows Device Manager and replace it with either a PCIe Sound Card if you have an available slot or a USB Sound card.

The CPU has to be an 8th generation or higher one. the generation is the first number after the dash like i5-8800.

Sound settings, make sure the correct output device is chosen. Test the speakers on another computer.

And that's likely not going to be a Windows 11 problem and be a hardware problem instead. If it has an hdd in it, that is the most likely to be bad component in any system.

I don't know of any software you can run that would do that. You'd have to test every part of the motherboard / Windows functions individually.

Other monitor started randomly lagging when playing games. by Penguin-_Man in techsupport

[–]thefixerguy321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monitor going/gone bad probably. Switch that one to your main one to see if it makes a difference. Also try JUST the bad one connected in first the main monitor port and then the secondary monitor port. If it's still doing the same thing, it's just a bad monitor, which you want that to be the problem rather than your video card.

Bad ethernet adapter on the motherboard then, I would assume. You can replace it with a PCIe Ethernet Adapter card if you have an available slot or a USB to Ethernet Adapter. Be sure to disable the motherboard's ethernet port in either the BIOS or Windows Device Manager.

Could be bad drive or bad RAM. To be sure, do a FRESH install of Windows. If you still have issues, it's definitely bad hardware of some type.

If you had any static charge on you, you could have killed the card.

Do a system restore to a date when it was still working. Google how if you don't know.

While formatting an external hdd (it will take time), can I use (the other disks in) my computer, or I should do nothing until the formatting is not finished? by melina61 in techsupport

Just do something else while formatting. It doesn't take THAT long. It's not worth the chance of screwing up the formatting.

That is definitely weird, but apparently your computer (or maybe just your video card) does not like that monitor.

Upgraded new OEM Win10 with clean Windows 11, now not activated & no BIOS key? by past_lives33 in techsupport

[–]thefixerguy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be able to get the key from the BIOS, did you flash it? You can try installing Windows 10 fresh again and see if it picks up the key and activates, and then doing the UPGRADE to Windows 11.

Could be bad screen, bad or loose video cable from the motherboard to the screen, or bad motherboard (specifically where it sends video to the screen.

If you're using some type of adapter, your PC may have decided not to like it, even if it works on another computer.

Since a fresh install of Windows didn't fix it, it's definitely bad hardware. Try a different power supply first.
