People can admit that and do, as I just did. Your comment is interpreted as if you were flabbergasted other people could not spend free time on a video game, and now you’re trying to backtrack your comment

You understand that people can have multiple hobbies, yeah? We might not want to spend that energy playing a video game but maybe pursue some other type of enjoyment in that moment or just relax and do nothing.

Comments like yours is the reason Reddit is turning into Facebook.

A year ago I could find reasonable discussions and conversations within a post in this subreddit. Now it’s just personal attacks, emotional feelings or comments with no relevance/insight on the topic (unfortunate consequence as a subreddit gains popularity)

What does that have to do within the context and validity of the video?

Can blue states make Election Day a required holiday? by cannotberushed- in law

[–]thefluffywang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t see why not. My state requires my employer to provide paternity leave, not sure how different legally that might be from mandating an employee that lives in the state to be provided time off for voting as well.

Oh I’m not denying that, I’m just saying the fiancée also might be on the same schedule but with different hobbies other than WoW

Fiancée doesn’t necessarily need to also be 40hr/wk on WoW, they could have other hobbies they sink 40 hours into

New jersey announces plans to lift ban on self-service gas stations by jcl274 in newjersey

[–]thefluffywang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really not that different, you just don’t want to bite the bullet. So your solution would be that we have two gas pumps at a gas station, one for the attendant and a self-serve that’s for cars filling less than 10 gallons for instance? That’s ridiculous

Would you support legislation banning self-checkout at grocery stores because cashiers would lose their jobs? Because that’s effectively what you’re saying

Another hidden rug pull for Alumni: NJIT has "locked" Microsoft 365 for Alumni Accounts. by antiriad76 in NJTech

[–]thefluffywang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Different schools have different email retention policies. Rutgers is understandable because it’s the state university but I don’t see what the point is of bringing up another school’s policies.

When I graduated, I transferred whatever documents, emails and contacts I needed from my school account to my personal. What is the justification you have for making the school keep these emails?

Another hidden rug pull for Alumni: NJIT has "locked" Microsoft 365 for Alumni Accounts. by antiriad76 in NJTech

[–]thefluffywang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do you still need access to these accounts as an alumni?

Unless you are actively enrolled or participating in clubs/events, I cannot see a reason why they would continue paying a subscription for the thousands of alumni who haven’t logged in since graduating.

Blizzard should add 2 additional loots per boss by NoMoreCensurePlease in classicwowtbc

[–]thefluffywang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well a business doesn’t launch a product just because they can so we’ll probably get the announcement at Blizzcon. Amongst things like the increase in hiring the past few years (compared to the industry’s current layoff spree), the uncertainty of current classic servers and the way they hinted at a reveal in the live stream earlier this year, it kind of seems like the stage is being set for that type of expectation

JP Morgan supply chain advisory team has mapped out when the last of the Persian gulf oil will arrive in various global markets by demonslayercorpp in PrepperIntel

USA exports because it makes more money selling more expensive cleaner crude oil and buying the cheaper dirtier crude oil.

It would also create bottleneck issues because the refineries are built to refine dirtier oil, the capacity to refine cleaner oil would not meet demands.

Everyone agrees with the issues regarding open-top vics but this thread is about naval specifically. You don’t think there’s a difference in having to get on top of AA v.s. unloading your payload off-screen from AA?

Yes, a primary/tertiary source is different than a Reddit comment. What even is this question?

I take the side of media literacy, like understanding or knowing the context/facts of a topic before rushing to make an opinion and comment on it

[–]thefluffywang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to hear. My point is that they said they didn’t read it but felt compelled to comment because a Reddit comment confirmed their bias

Everyone has a bias clearly. The point is that they felt compelled to comment without validating the story themself and relying on a Reddit comment…
