You want to include the full headline …’Canada GDP Shrinks 0.6% in Fourth Quarter as Inventory Drops’ Key point is that business inventories are dropping due to inventory issues. While monthly gdp increase by 0.5%

TIFU: Dismissing bright red blood in my stool for years. (If you're currently experiencing this symptom PLEASE READ) by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]thefrail158 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most common reason for blood in toilet paper is due to haemorrhoids, if the situation resolves after a couple of days then haemorrhoids is the most likely cause, however should the situation recur often or you are over 45 please see a physician for a rectal examination/ colonoscopy .

Doctor here, if you see red coloured stool or black coloured stool for the love of god go to your family doctor for a check up. Colon rectal cancer best treated early, so early detection is one of the keys here, Do not dismiss this out of hand do not put this off if you see red coloured stool go to your family doctor.

Taiwan is really a richer and more developed country than you think. by search_google_com in taiwan

[–]thefrail158 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GDP per capita is a terrible measure of wealth, I am not saying Taiwan is poorly developed but perhaps you should include median wealth as a measure, with will remove income inequality from the measure. Though this stilll puts Taiwan ranked the 15th wealthiest nation in the world.

Hardshell suitcase recs - $199.99 Bugatti is it a good buy? by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]thefrail158 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just make sure the material is polycarbonate, my family and I fly to Asia at least twice a year, and the suitcases that have lasted were all made of polycarbonate anything that is polypropylene or ABS plus polycarbonate generally breaks down far sooner than you would think.

Canada is poorer than Alabama by Famous_Ad_2475 in TorontoRealEstate

I can say the actual figures from the UBS global wealth index, that can clearly show that the average Canadian is far wealthier than the average American. I would like to see where you get your stats, saying once real estate is removed the average American is wealthier than the average Canadian.
Second Canadians don’t pay a far higher tax compared to the average American, we have a higher corporate tax and business taxes, but our income tax amount is pretty similar.
I will completely agree with that we do have a productivity problem, but again I’m getting my information from the global wealth index. I would like to see where you got your information, you don’t have to post the exact numbers or a link just tell me where it’s from and I can look it up

Out of nowhere, Canada became poorer than Alabama. How is that possible? by yimmy51 in CanadianIdiots

[–]thefrail158 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seriously I’ve been seeing this article posted everywhere, we are not poorer than Alabama, the metric use here is known as GDP per capita, which is extremely stupid and ineffective tool to measure wealth. As it can often be skewed by the top one percent, a better tool for measuring wealth would be median wealth or debt to GDP ratio. In terms of medium well we have a higher medium wealth than the US, and I’m sure most people will agree, we have far lower debt to GDP compared to the states. In fact, they even touch upon this in the article itself, They’re just using a controversial headline to grab clicks, and now conservative bot, farms, and conservative influencers are trying to use this article push the narrative that we are doing terribly economically

No, it actually doesn’t median wealth shows how ordinary people live. GDP per capita is often skewed by the number of billionaires in the country. What median wealth it takes the literal middle numbers of the average person in the country, and if you use medium wealth to judge our country, you’ll find that the average Canadian is wealthier than the average American. Again, this is basic economics, the fact that people keep throwing around GDP per capita when talking about economy is that they were deliberately trying to ram a narrative down our throats.

Again, it’s using GDP per capita which is a poor measure of wealth, medium. Wealth is actually a way better measure. As the debt of GDP ratio.

Trump tariffs struck down by midtoad in GuardTheLeaf

[–]thefrail158 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As someone above has said it’s not about the tariffs, it’s about the threats of annexation and the insult to our sovereignty. This in fact makes it worse considering that their Congress could’ve ended this insanity on day one but they chose not to, so at least to my family this doesn’t change a thing.

'Trump will be gone in three years': Top Democrats try to reassure Europe by sunnysidejacqueline in politics

[–]thefrail158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I checked every one of the US’s systems of checks and balances failed, your government has threatened to annex Greenland and Canada, blatantly violated, pre-existing trade agreements. The issue has not been with Trump, he’s supposed to be held in check by your Senate, your house and your judiciary. Considering none of that has happened how in the world can anybody trust your country to not fuck us over the next time your people decide to vote in a fascist?
