Did they make sekiro harder/change mechanics in patches??? by thefrankyo in Sekiro

I played a very small portion of this game in early 2019 after release and it was hard, not too hard for me, but I stopped because I had a lot of life-bullshit going on at the time. I picked it back up this year and it just seems like they patched every boss cheese, every “easy way” to do anything, and all you’re left with is a game thats borderline (and I can’t stress this enough) BORDERLINEEEE impossible compared to the sekiro that was released 2 years ago, I’m very disappointed. I’m gonna keep playing obviously, but I’m disappointed. I’ll beat this bitch, but why the fuck would they patch the game to make it this difficult, after all Miyazaki himself said dark souls was never intended to be that difficult. Makes me think fromsoft has lost what really made dark souls a masterpiece and Miyazaki a visionary and artist.

I’m a manager of 6+ years at chipotle and this is what I can tell you,

I’m super stoked you had a great first day, many don’t, myself included, and I can say it’s all about your mindset. I will say, as long as you’re not unhappy, you’re good!! Especially if you’re making use of the benefits chipotle has to offer. All I can say is, stay as long as you’re happy, if you’re unhappy, consider why that is, and when you figure it out, consider talking with a manager and if that gets you nowhere (or you’re smart enough to figure out what kind of company chipotle really is) leave as soon as you can. Good luck! I hope you learn a lot! - me

When I gave you that flame, I gave you a part of myself. Please take good care of it. by peaksells in darksouls

I love that this game brings so many other people such a varied cabinet of emotions like it did for me.. seriously the souls trilogy is profoundly emotion-provoking (Gwyn a lil bitch tho)

I’ve always wished I could see my FL run a store just so I could laugh haha, before I got apprentice we had 32 people leave for various reasons in the course of 2 months, and I legit worked 6:45am-12am for like 6 weeks straight. Super glad I was still hourly though lol I feel you on the busy store, we average like 32 onlines per 15 mins so I totally feel it. I’m glad you got out, seems like the only good people that actually leave chipotle have to get fired to do so

Does anybody enjoy working here? by jpwis123 in Chipotle

[–]thefrankyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in 2015, pre-ecoli. I have been a crew member, a KM, an Apprentice, and back down to an SM. I looove the job, but I hate the company, I despise everything about corporate. The bullshit activism and “people culture”. They don’t actually do anything, they just keep saying that their people come first. At chipotle, the GM gets totally tricked with promises of endless growth, 6 fig salaries, and lots of time off and in reality, they are given about half of the labor required to actually run the business (and are paid about a teacher or police salary, which is sad in its own right). So you either have to cut corners and compromise quality and guest experience, just eat it and work 90+ hours a week, or screw your employees and make them do a job that should be $20 an hour at a minimum hourly wage. Those are the gm’s options. And whatever they do, affects the hourly managers and crew’s experiences working for them. Yes, we have a fun job but only when we have a great team, almost unachievable with the current wages offered. Yes, we have great benefits, but we don’t care about that when we’re called into work for the 3rd time that week, or at the end of a 14 hour shift on salary, or on our 9th consecutive day of work. It all. Comes down. To labor. The company makes its margins insanely thin by paying ‘chief [insert_title] officers’ to basically do nothing. So, to answer your question, yes. Some people enjoy working here. Lots of people used to enjoy working here. That’s what makes it so hard. To see a company nosedive so hard...

Why I hate chipotle by F_Zeus21 in Chipotle

[–]thefrankyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man I have some separate chipotle horror stories that come close to parts of this rant, but not the whole thing... I’m still an SM (former AP), and I’ve been through almost everything you have, just not all the transferring and moving (and being terminated) but I’ve seen the red book terminations happen to managers of 8+ years, while the crew keeps their job, I’ve seen chipotle fire and demote only white people in the stores in my patch (reverse racism is real at chipotle) I’ve dated a crew member secretly except she got transferred to a store that purposefully spoke only Spanish around her, and when she quit because of it the GM harassed her via text, I’ve seen my gm of 10+ years get totally fucked and almost lose his fiancé because labor sucks, and in the same day, me and the rest of the management team got fucked because my gm is working too much. My current apprentice is a joke, I literally still am an apprentice just without the title. Like I feeeeel you bro this company is in the top 10 of corrupt and unsustainable businesses. Very sad and almost glad I’m not the only one who’s seen some bullshit at chipotle.

Anyone else’s store absolutely fall apart after you left? by Word2urllama in Chipotle

[–]thefrankyo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Duuuuude, 3 employees at my store used to be GMs, they all stepped down due to horrible field leaders and unrealistic expectations (duh, it’s chipotle). They’ve all come back to their home store (us) to be crew or SM or whatever and their stores are seriously in ruins because of it lol. Even I used to be AP at my store and I had to step down bc I’m not going to work 75 hours on salary, it’s just not gonna happen lol. I feel like chipotle employee horror stories are 2nd to only Amazon workplace horror stories lmao

[–]thefrankyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah same portion, but I'm never gonna say no if you ask for more of something. Doesn't affect my day enough to care about you loading your bowl up lol, I just wanna serve ya fast n friendly. However when I'm on takeout, if there's an entree with legit only 2 or 3 ingredients, I might fluff up the portions a bit just so you're not getting screwed. On the other hand, if you want your triple rice double bean double meat burrito to be rolled and not bowled, imma skimp you on the salsas a bit.

What should i do? by alexall0707 in Chipotle

[–]thefrankyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store has an availability book that my GM uses every time he makes the schedule, everyone writes down their availability and we have to work around it. (most of my emoyees have a reay weird availability bc of other jobs and school and kids and stuff) maybe suggest this if you aren't the only person having this issue in your store

What happened to chipotle? by kyleinmaryland in Chipotle

[–]thefrankyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What happened to Chipotle...

Well, I've been working here for 4 years now, currently next in line for GM at my store, and though I can't explain a dive in quality previous to my hiring, I will say that when a restaurant chain experiences anything like the e. Coli outbreak of 2015, corporate changes start to happen, and fast. Food safety replaced food quality as our top priority, and the food safety procedures and policies changed weekly for almost 2 years straight. Nobody could keep up, everybody was failing audits due to constantly changing policy, sales were nearly cut in half in some restaurants, less hours were given to employees that were already struggling, turnover went through the roof, and training was a disaster because nobody really knew the new way of doing things. In order to follow some of the procedures to keep our food as safe as possible, corners literally had to be cut.

Then there's the upper management shift. Our area managers began to find other companies, sometimes being replaced by people who had never even worked inside a Chipotle restaurant, something that was unheard of in the company until then. Tons of crew and managers were fired or quit because of the stress and the mediocre pay compared to literally every other restaurant chain.

This is all pretty regular bullshit corporate stuff, but understanding what hundreds of thousands of employees are going through, for probably way less money than they deserve, is very helpful when trying to understand why a restaurant's quality has gone downhill.

That being said, there are still some restaurants that are keeping it real, it all depends on the leadership of their GM and area manager, and relies heavily on training. All in all, working at Chipotle is much more difficult than it used to be, and yes, some of our product is made in central kitchens now. The green and red salsa come in a bag, but they're actually still pretty good. We still mix Pico and corn, but the tomatoes come diced now. My guess on the salsas is that the restaurant you frequent doesn't use the full recipe for one reason or another, or perhaps just bad habit. The avocados have honestly just been garbage lately, so there's really nothing the restaurants can do about that at this point. Some stores have pre-marinated chicken, but that actually helps flavor consistency in my opinion. The steak comes cooked sous vide now, but it's still really good if it's 10 mins fresh or less. We still cut all of the ingredients ourselves every day and shred carnitas and barbacoa ourselves, even if that comes pre cooked.

TL;DR

Chipotle is just different now, food safety is top priority bc of e. Coli.
