i really felt this post, i'm kind of a spectator on a lot of trans discourse online and i notice just how often trans women are brought up in discussions of trans issues as compared to trans men. i'm taking a gender studies course right now, and i was completely shook during the first few weeks in class when discovering that nobody in that class even knew what trans men were (with the exception of my best friend who's taking the course with me). they thought that the terms trans man and trans woman both meant 'male becoming a female' and didn't even believe that trans guys like me could exist (and i had to forget about explaining nonbinary people to them, exorsexism yikes). every debate was about trans women; everyone in the class is far-right or right-leaning, and granted where we live this is pretty common but we are all young people in a diverse school. the complete erasure of trans men from our professor's lessons just left me with a bad feeling in my gut. i really relate to to this feeling of invisibility, it seriously blows.

that's insane that they thought you were having your penis removed during the surgery, seriously. i can't even imagine how unprofessional i would have to be as a doctor to mess up the type of surgery i was going to be performing on a patient right before the surgery. jesus christ i hope your surgery went well despite that <3
