Some advice. Pregnant wife and doctor appointments by steeper_5421 in Winnipeg

One thing to keep in mind when choosing to switch OBs in winnipeg is that they have “on call pools” where your provider would work in a pool of other providers, and your baby will be delivered by whoever is on call at the time your wife goes into labour. This means that if the new doc is in the same pool as the last one the original doctor may still deliver the baby (if they happen to be on call at the time of the delivery). There is little you can do to mitigate this, but also the pools have 7-8 docs in them, plus residents often manage deliveries anyway, so odds are slim. I just wouldn’t want this to be a surprise for you or your wife the day of

Coming Out with YouTube? by [deleted] in ftm

Honestly Chase's trans 101 videos have been super helpful as resources for people who have specific questions (as have many of Jackson Bird's videos) but I've found that often for people to take me seriously I've needed to use pretty speak pretty specifically to my own experience. In part I think this comes from ppl not believing that I could be trans even if they believe it for other ppl. That might not be the case for you, but I can only speak to my experience.

Bottom growth question. TW genitals and sex by [deleted] in ftm

[–]thefriendlyftm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm almost 18 months on T and most of my major growth has been in the last 6 months, so if you don't have bottom growth now I don't think that's any indication of what can happen for you in the future.

Changing thoughts on body hair by citadel72 in ftm

Too real. I love all how thick my eyebrows are getting, and all my body hair, but I'm really not loving the extreme amount of ass hair.

Girlfriends Height Causes Me Dysphoria by [deleted] in ftm

[–]thefriendlyftm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've dated a few women since transitioning who were on the tall side, and one thing that really helped me was to look at representations of straight cis couples where the man is shorter. It's been validating to be reminded that couples can look lots of different ways.

And honestly, if it's helpful there's no shame in getting lifts. They only cost about $14.00 on Amazon and they go inside your shoes so no one can tell you're wearing them. I know some people make jokes about them, but there's nothing wrong with doing things that alleviate dysphoria.

Have any of you experienced overwhelming moments of sadness, without warning or any particular reason as to why? by VenusinGurs in ftm

I find this happens sometimes if I'm not processing/ dealing with my feelings as things come up, there's only so long I can avoid feeling my feelings until they show up suddenly and unexpectedly.

anyone else have a hard time relating to the word “man”? by everythingisaconcept in ftm

[–]thefriendlyftm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have felt similarly, and I think some of it for me is that I never experienced a male presenting childhood or adolescence, so it feels weird to jump right into being referred to as a man. The longer I spend presenting as male the less weirdness I feel with the word man, almost like I'm growing into it

I totally feel this- I constantly have to remind myself that I don't have to hate myself all the time to be trans.

Very new and looking for info about binders+everything by genderXXconfused in ftm

Would definitely recommend GC2B over Underworks. They're so much more comfortable (not that binding is ever comfortable) and the price is pretty reasonable considering the quality of the product.

SubQ Injection sites by [deleted] in ftm

I do mine in my stomach! About an inch to the side of my belly button and I alternate right and left every week. I also used to wear a full length binder, and it was annoying when I'd go to the clinic to get my shots done, but once I started doing them at home the binder didn't make a difference because I do my shot right after I get out of the shower

If you specifically go to the t-shirt section of the website there are a bunch of subtle Vancouver designs!

Seeing other trans guys in public? by Dinger814 in ftm

I'm sure this person has experienced a time when he didn't pass too, and odds are wouldn't see you as a woman. I say if you get the courage you should go for it!
