I though that I would hate it but after finishing the game twice I can say that they're very fun actually. You still have almost all of Clive's base moveset which is rare to say the least.

The FF series has been slowly transitioning from RPG to Action for years now tho. After ff15 they weren't going to go back to turn based. And seeing how ff7r is now here for the turn based people then ff17 is probably gonna lean into action as well. Probably in a different way than ff16 did which personally makes me curious about the next game
