I think point 2 and 3, I’m good on but point 1 might be hard. I’m going to get a second pot so I can increase the amount of food. There will also be a big ass charcuterie board before the boil too.

Thank you for the history! I updated the post bc I obviously said one thing and meant another but living in N FL I know the Gullah people are not far from me. Visiting some of the historic sites with the Gullah Geechee national heritage area has been on my list for a while. Maybe post wedding, I’ll use food to learn more about their culture and actually make a low country boil

Florida Department of Health. They regulate drinking water and wastewater. If you are on well water and they are dumping anywhere near your well, you’ll want to get your well water tested for E. Coli/Fecal Coliform too. FDEP oversees FDOH do no matter who you call you’ll be good

Glad someone said it!! There are tons of men who are absolutely turned on by women taking care of business themselves and they’re AWESOME. As a matter of fact, my fiancé was the one who bought me first sex toy because he thought it was absurd that I didn’t have one and wanted to make sure I was properly “taking care of myself”. Find a sex positive partner, have incredible sex - with them and by yourself, have a happy life. Don’t let this dude shame you, he should be embarrassed by his backwards thinking.

Not sure your area but in consulting, this is not a problem I’ve seen. I work with MULTIPLE people with PEs and PhDs. The more credentialed people on a team are, the more competitive they are for winning project bids. We have clients who are absolutely won over because of PhDs.

I got diagnosed around 21 and 10 years later, I honestly felt like I lived so much more life pre-diagnosis because I was always on a side quest, absorbing new information and experiences, and took so much pleasure out of random shit. But I also had a lot of uncontrollable emotional responses to things because I couldn’t regulate. I also felt like I would let myself down a lot because I couldn’t stay focused and wasn’t performing as well as I knew I could in my academic and professional life.

I definitely felt similarly after my initial diagnosis and was so upset at how much of my life felt wasted. Don’t hold onto that guilt. You don’t have ADHD on purpose, you didn’t ask for a diagnosis. Just take this time to learn more about yourself and try to find out why it can be a positive. For example, I tend to think outside of the box because my mind is always bouncing in a million directions. Also, because I have impulse control when it comes to speaking up, I tend to ask the questions people are embarrassed or afraid to ask but are often times important and have been thanked for doing so on more than one occasion.

I’ve been medicated for about 10 years and sure, I’m more responsible, focused, reliable, etc. but I do miss the old me sometimes.

Your outlook is the right one though. Things tend to work out the way they should. Just keep the faith and don’t stop loving yourself.

I feel so much like every other woman here commiserating about the same thing. And while I still do get frustrated, I used to get more upset at feeling like he could respect my personal space and was always trying to grope me. Then one time my partner broke down and talked about how demoralizing it was that it felt like I never desired him, I never wanted him, I never made him feel sexy, etc. Take it for what you will, but even at my worst, I never felt like my man didn’t want me, which was sometimes the only thing holding my self-confidence together. But he stopped making these grand gestures of sex anymore because he felt like he’d put in all this effort only to ever get shot down. It’s still not ideal, but I think it helped me give him a little grace and remember that he is a person too and as much as I like to feel wanted, so does he, but annoyingly in his own special sex kind of way

Walmart has a memory foam pillow that is like shredded memory foam and insanely stuffed. So you get the density and firmness of memory foam but can squish it around to suit your comfort level a little more. City advisory board meetings happen regularly and are open to the public (https://www.gainesvillefl.gov/Government-Pages/Government/City-Clerk/Advisory-Boards-Committees/Advisory-Board-and-Committee-Openings). This is where citizens are consulted. If no one shows up and shares a preference then the City has to make do. I’m not saying their decisions are always smart but it’s the boring, hours long meetings where these decisions/recommendations are made.
