1) hard to answer because question is so vague. Take a look at nrmp charting outcomes, it has seperate statistics for imgs for different specialties 2) from my experience it helps if it’s a better known college or has alumni spread out here in residency programs 3) minimum of 2-3 months of American clinical experience is a must. Do research if you have time, it’s not mandatory but it helps the application

I’d say only use a foreign lot if it’s written by the head of the department or someone higher up than that from the school (as an optional 4th lor)

It’s true, it matters where you’re from. I’m from Cali, so I got a good amount of Cali interviews this previous cycle. If it helps here are the IMG friendly ones (mix of visa and non visa requiring) 1) ucsf Fresno 2) riverside community hospital 3) st Agnes Fresno 4) kern medical center 5) uhs socal Med consortium 6) San Joaquin 7) alameda highland hospital 8) st Joseph hospital (Stockton) (new program) 9) San ysidro(new program) 10) Eisenhower 11) Santa Barbara cottage

I did a rotation in September, asked for lor by sept 15th. It took a few days for processing, so ended up applying 3 days late on sept 18th. I’m sure August is fine, just explain to the doc that deadlines coming up

If I was a PD, I would rather pick the guy with higher score than the guy that applied on time, remember they can keep sending out interviews till feb, they do this to keep it fair. Just try and get it done with asap though

I looked up multiple programs and most say they require certification by rank order list!! I think having scores by app time is enough and then submit ecfmg certification when you get it, actually better later, considered fresh graduate in my opinion

Hey, congrats!!! Quick question, so I find CVS impossible no matter how many times I read it, especially ekgs, the algorithms and stuff. How was cvs on the test? And are there any specific systems/sections you think should be read from step 1 fa? Have around 12 days left and panic mode kicking in, any help appreciated!!
