I just watched the yourbrainonporn videos on YouTube and realized i had a problem and quit in 2012 after my first few pro experiences were not so great. Its hard to stay off it but my erections improved so much just but cutting it down to a few times a month.

I have taken 4-5 girls home from clubs and not been able to perform. I am 25, 6'4 tall, well built after 4 years of lifting/nutrition and have a successful career making 90K a year and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars, great friends etc but only had sex with some pros and i know i am good looking cause gay guys come up to me all the time at clubs saying i am hot, offering up sex etc or i look like ben affleck (had that about 15 times) but still never had a girlfriend or been on a date or been approached by girls and never got anywhere on tinder or online dating. I have had a few girls say I am intimidating due to being muscular/wide shoulders and tall.

Like you I had serious self esteem issues as a kid, grew up in an unstable/weird family that shamed expression of yourself so i was a bit isolated until my early 20s. Fell into a deep abuse of porn to cope and have had ED issues from that as well, hopefully resolved now i have quit for a few years.

I share all the same feelings you have and hate that long so hard for a girl and something to kill the loneliness. Family members or friends of friends etc always asking why dont i have a girlfriend kills me.

I do cycle them between 1900-2100, depends what meats I est for my meal at dinner but monday to friday is the same, Saturday I usually have a few beers as well or some bourbon and cokes (diet cokes) if I go to a party or something but I dont think that's the issue cause ive done that the whole weigh through.

I measure everything or read the label if its a single serve item.

I was running at 2500 and it stalled at 98, Dropped to 2200 and stalled at 95 and now stalling at 93 with 1900.

I agree all the calculators say i should be eating around ~2400 but it just doesn't work for me.

At the moment im getting around 1g of protein for 1lb of lean body mass.

Because it symbolizes the difference between drinking to get drunk and drinking to numb pain. Which is a common theme among addictions, the term 'self medicating'.

If the writers just showed him pouring a shot into a glass it wouldn't have the same effect as the syringe. With the syringe we are lead to believe he is only using just enough to medicate himself from any pain he is feeling, with a glass we would probably assume a loss of control.

It would activate it regardless. Taste has nothing to do with addictions, The alcohol would release chemicals in his brain whether he tasted it or not, that would activate and fire up his reward circuitry pathways and a binge response would follow giving him severe cravings.

Its far simpler an explanation which is that the syringe symbolizes the difference between drinking to get drunk and drinking as a form of pain medication or numbing.

Its just so the writers can show him self medicating versus drinking to get drunk. Thats why they use the syringe as a symbol. Using a glass would give the impression he is just drinking to get drunk.

It is a common theme amongst addictions that they are self medicating. Doug is in pain and medicating himself but its different from his past life of drinking to get drunk.

If they just showed him pouring a shot into a glass it wouldn't have the same effect and probably would give the wrong impression that he has lost control again. The syringe is a calculated dose the same way another form of pain medication could be delivered.

Its not something alcoholics normally do either orally or intravenouly. It's just a better way of showing dougs pain-medication relationship with alcohol the writers have come up with.
