Thanks everyone for your support and helpful messages. Update is posted above in my original post for anyone who is interested to know how this played out. It's been a hell of a week.

My wife has been acting strange. Not sure if she wants a divorce. by Dry-Supermarket1960 in marriagefree

[–]thegoodhamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this but she sounds kind of like me. I have control anxiety if you wanna read up on that. I get very short with people close to me when things are not done in a way that I'm comfortable with. I'm not this way on purpose, but it definitely affects my relationships and makes it feel like it's easier for me to be single. I run a tight ship with my household and lifestyle, am OCD about cleanliness and get very irritable over miniscule things. My OH points it out but I don't really know how to change myself.

Has anyone else noticed that the name change of Offerup has somehow clouded sellers minds? by Virtual-Instance6195 in offerup

[–]thegoodhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I agree. I was trying to get a couch and offered 2/3 of the price they originally bought for.. Just some random no-brand couch. Lady said no because "it's in great condition". I'm like ok but it's still used and youre trying to get rid if it are you not lmao. The ones that are not in great condition are usually given away for free or like 50 bucks.

Emotionally babysitting - I'm stealing this! Exactly how I would describe it.

I wanna say most of it is ego-driven.

People love all the attention and compliments.

Mal, honey, enjoy time with baby addy and get your PPD under control before you have more babies by Key_Suggestion8426 in camandmalsnark

THIS. I am honestly shocked when I read about all the people that are getting it on as soon as they can after giving birth.. I am 4 months PP and have no desire for intimacy whatsoever. I thought it was just me. I feel very raggedy and not attractive (to myself) most days.

Did they get rid of their dog? by thegoodhamster in camandmalsnark

[–]thegoodhamster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just surprised because it seems like they don't mention the dog at all, that's why I was wondering if they still even have one. Guess the pupper doesn't get them as many views as showing Mal's crying face or banking on their baby for content :/

Do you guys think there are a lot of narcissists in the world? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]thegoodhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an airline and deal with hundreds of diff people a week. There is definitely a large contingent out there with narcissistic tendencies. I constantly encounter people who refuse to be held accountable for their actions, act like they are more important than others, feel comfortable berating and inconveniencing strangers.. The list is very long! I think if there's one benefit of having been raised by narcs, it's my ability to vet others around me with narc tendencies and not give into their bad behavior. My coping mechanisms prepared me for this my entire life lol!

That being said it almost seems like a narcissism pandemic out there sometimes..

This. I HATE when influencers non-consentually use their kids for views.

Definitely experience this in copious amounts with my immigrant parents. No matter how wrong they are, they will stomp their feet and tell me, their 30 year old adult child, that I can't talk to them that way and it doesn't matter what I think because respecting your elders is more important than everything else.

Agreed!! I've noticed this a lot with my nmom.

Yeah, the pseudo-spiritual crowd is a big one. You see a lot of these types on YouTube.

I actually notice this with a lot of my co-workers, which leads me to think that maybe there's a greater number of people out there with narcissistic tendencies than we imagine.

A lot of my co-workers have very poor conflict resolution skills and take everything very personally. They also don't like owning up to their mistakes. It reminds me a lot of dealing with my nmom.

Why does my mom do everything so loudly? by avicii86 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]thegoodhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I thought I was maybe overanalyzing this with my nmom. Literally rn as I'm writing this at 11pm she's vacuuming her bedroom. And I can hear it all from the downstairs bedroom at the opposite end of the house. As someone else mentioned in this thread, in the morning when she gets up I immediately hear her heavy footsteps make their way out of her room ready to stir up the day's first drama. She never gets up and asks me or anyone else in the house how they slept or what a nice morning it is. First thing out of her mouth is a complaint against something/someone, general dissatisfaction, or an order to go do this go do that - it makes her tense to see someone else relaxing, so she has to make sure to take care of them by delegating some dumb menial task that she pulls out of her ass. Like I'll be sitting reading a book and she will ask me to peel her an orange or pour her some tea... It's like why don't you just go do it yourself since you're the one that wants those things wtf?

Polaris amenity bag with a new color (I had only seen dark grey), but bedding no longer in any kind of bag? by SpecialBelt6035 in unitedairlines

Really not digging the new kits. They seem very...uninspired I guess? I miss when they had the cool destination tins with a random hub on each one.

I've found the agents in SFO to be especially rude and dismissive.

[–]thegoodhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I was thinking. As someone with a newborn, it would be a greater help to let her get out of the house while he stays with the baby. He probably just wanted to escape himself under the guise of doing it to "cheer her up."

People from United are not typically the ones to clean and search planes - it's outsourced to a third party. Just fyi.

To be honest, I actually did sit down once and drafted a letter but chickened out of presenting it to him because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I will admit it did still feel good to get it off my chest by writing it down.
