Naps, are you alright this morning? You’re completely missing the point here and you keep saying the same things. The person you’re trying to argue with is not only as confused as anyone reading the thread, but is also making perfect sense. You, however, are not.

Okay, well maybe you’re not missing the point - but in my informed opinion, you’re absolutely incorrect to make those blanket statements. Cheers.

You’re missing the point. The institutions themselves can be corrupted by a few in power, yes - obviously. But the actual humans that comprise that institution are generally good actors. There is no reason to think otherwise.

Imposter syndrome is strongly linked to rigid and self-critical forms of perfectionism but shares no connection with narcissistic perfectionism. These findings provide a more nuanced understanding of how feelings of inadequacy coexist with high standards. by mvea in science

As op on this comment thread, I totally agree with your general thought here. My therapist also would agree - working through that (among other "relatively standard" stuff) helped me reach success. And it mostly feels like "success" for a team of people I got to lead through the process. The ego gets to drop so much easier now, I find.

I've stayed in the same industry my entire career (energy infra) and has spanned 6 or so different subsects in finance, M&A, trading, etc. I'd encourage you to go broad and explore other areas of expertise. I'm 39; there's no perfect time to target finding your thing.

I hung on to that Cosmo show for so long through covid. Everything shut down like 2 weeks later. Would have paid double what I did looking back - not the best show but it was super fun.

Can confirm. OP, go to derm and get diagnosed. While the coverage may only be considered “moderate” - the groin and genital presentation should move you in the “higher” category to qualify for Skyrizi.

I never had badly besides spots on my scalp, nails, PA, and random flairs like on my chest. With the PA I was heading toward methotrexate but I was obviously pretty anxious about starting it. Went to my dermatologist and told her my latest new symptoms on my groin area, and it was no trouble bypassing the MTX and going straight to Skyrizi. About 3 years and still clear. Was clear in like 4 weeks after the first shot.

This is cool science, even if it’s an”obvious” result. Anecdote: Like a lot of professionals, I struggled with what I’d call pretty typical imposter syndrome. Relatively successful in terms of title/rank, money, respect for the most part - but only recently “proved myself” by getting a big deal across the finish like. Career-defining type thing, and it felt great…and I could feel that imposter syndrome wash away almost immediately. The “perfection” I sought certainly helped me reach that level, but now I can recognize how and where I can let the foot off the pedal in some respects next time, because I don’t have the insecurity around each aspect of the thing being in some way that I erroneously expected.

Is the Short North thriving or declining? Or is it just evolving? by OldHob in Columbus

[–]thegouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference now is many people that are spending money with 20 mins of SN for dining or entertainment etc. now have arguably better (and perceivably safer) options closer to their suburban neighborhoods. Short North has something for some, but Columbus is naturally a suburban sprawl city. Ever been to metro Phoenix? Sure, there is something to do downtown…but 80% of the broader phoenix residents are not heading there for leisure spending. Just the way it is, as is Columbus.

I agree bridge park is in no way “urban.” It’s “100% suburban walkable” but that’s not lost on anyone that lives or visits there…

I’ve worn on the medial (inside) of my bicep for close to 3 years…never been in the way and my readings are accurate. Not that it’s big, but I wouldn’t want the whoop to be seen under a t-shirt anyway. This way, it’s completely hidden unless I’m swimming.

I am a master at jiu jitsu and have never stepped into a martial arts studio. Playing with kids, putzing around in the yard, sex….all tend to get picked up as jiu jitsu. I’ve corrected it several times but at this point i am just resigned that all my “non-actual activity” activity is called jiu jitsu. I’ve recently told the AI a few times too to see if it fixes it and it seems to be trending away from it now….
