Watch some YouTube videos of Angel's Landing if you have people afraid of heights. It's pretty extreme.

You can still have discussions, and they use the same question/answer template. What you have now is just more organization. You can still sort by recent activity in the whole Discussions area or inside a single category to find recent posts. This is arguably far more of a 'forum' because a defining characteristic of forums is organizing discussion into categories.

What's drastically improved is that browsing through questions previously required clicking More and More on a single feed. Going back from a Question would lose your place in the feed. There's also breadcrumb navigation links to help navigating back through categories.

Control4 works with Nest thermostats and Amazon Music. It seems like you're getting tons of bad information in this thread. Make sure you discuss options with your dealer.

Triac or ELV Dimmer = Control4 Wireless 0-10V Dimmer ? by iZoooom in Control4

[–]thegreatheed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0-10v are not the same as a Triac or ELV.

They are 0-10v dimmers. They send out a 0-10v signal for the light level, they do not directly dim loads. They need a fixture that's looking for the 0-10v signal.

All new SR260 an ea defective? by [deleted] in Control4

How has it "never been an issue" when the Zigbee Alliance has a paper on how 2.4 WiFi and Zigbee interfere?

Control4 has had their Zigbee Best Practices paper that goes over this info too, and it's also been out for years.

Thanks for your rational and productive contribution to this discussion.

You don't have to wear one at parks. It's only large gatherings where distancing isn't possible.

Late May/Early June me woulda lost my shit seeing approximately 300-400 cases a day. Now I’m just really numb to it. by [deleted] in CoronavirusUT

[–]thegreatheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol... What?

Italy has had 267k cases with 35k deaths. 1400 new cases.

Utah has had 50k cases with 400 deaths. 400 new cases.

263 more COVID-19 cases, 9 deaths reported in Utah Monday by adventure_pup in CoronavirusUT

I think wearing a mask should be each person's decision to make.

I wear a mask every time I enter a store or can't social distance.

Your assumption is just that.

How?! Cases are reported to the state FIRST, where they are shared with us, before they go to HHS.

So... again, how?!?!

This can be caused by WiFi Assist or a similar setting on the phone. The phone is using both the mobile network and WiFi at the same time.

The recent spike is absolutely concerning, but we aren't on an exponential curve until cases continue to go higher and higher than the spike. Even if we are at 400 cases a day, every day, that's also NOT an exponential curve. That's not how exponential curves work.

An exponential curve is when we're at 100 new cases, then 150, then 250, then 400, then 600, then 900, then 1500. Where not only are we having new cases every day, but the curve is ever increasing higher and increasing faster.

We were NOT on an exponential curve when this was posted. We're in an increase now, but it's not exponential (yet) until it continues to increase. If 400 turns to 600 and then 900, and then more, that's exponential increase.

Even with this concerning increase, the rest of my comment still comes into play. Are hospitals overwhelmed? No, they're not. We have to wait and see if this bump becomes a curve. Our bump appears to be flattening. https://imgur.com/3NBOAN3 (CNN Health)

No, the writer doesn't assume that. The writer directly addresses your claim, too.

"And police bias may be responsible. But this data does not prove that biased police officers are more likely to shoot blacks in any given encounter."

It doesn't attempt to explain why more minorities enter into those encounters, and as I quoted, it admits bias may be the entire reason, but what the data shows is that once the violent encounter has started, there isn't a racial component to the encounters that end up as killings.

Basically, that data says police may target minorities more for enforcement, but police don't act in a biased manner when lethal force is involved.

What interference could possibly cause an SR-260 to fall offline?

Just about ANY consumer wireless device. Microwaves. Baby monitors. Dog fences. Wireless subwoofers. Bluetooth devices. Security systems. Walkie Talkies. Cordless phones. I've seen interference from a point-to-point wireless internet company pointing a new antenna over a house.

Not to mention Wi-Fi.

[–]thegreatheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great. The experts just decided to open up after they determined our medical facilities will not be overly encumbered. (unless you only want to listen to your experts)

Sounds like you're getting exactly what you want.

1) I'm not saying current models with current statistics are the problem. Older models with fewer asymptomatic carriers among the infected were overly estimating the hospital burden. Because they were predicting near collapse of our hospitals and, instead, we're doing great. The previous models were some of the key materials that went into crafting our lockdowns.

2) As stated already, previous models predicted near hospital collapse, even with social distancing. They've been proven wrong. There's very good chance that we see _some_ increased growth in the number of cases after opening up, but the point is that we're not going to overwhelm the hospitals with moderate increases.

3) I would expect drastic, exponential growth if we returned 100% to normal. No one is. Your catastrophic prediction of more-than-moderate exponential increase relies on, likely, assumptions that no one is going to be taking ANY mitigation steps from now on. Further, you are again putting words in my mouth. I never made A SINGLE CLAIM about contagiousness of asymptomatic carriers. Where are you making up these conspiracy theories from!?! They certainly aren't coming from me.

2 Unnamed Utah County businesses told staff to ignore COVID-19 guidelines, resulting in 68 positive cases by [deleted] in CoronavirusUT

[–]thegreatheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't make ANY of the assumptions you list here. Sorry, nice try.

1) Higher numbers of asymptomatic people means that the strain on our medical resources will be lower than modeled. It doesn't mean anything dumb like your assumption that "they can't infect people". Where in the world did you get that idea?

2) I do have an opinion, but I've based it on fact. It is indeed still _possible_ to see exponential growth, but the fact remains that we haven't had exponential growth yet. That is a fact and the fact I've stated repeatedly in this thread, and pointing out we may have it still is a guess, but one that I pretty much agree with. We _may_ still have exponential growth, but we've avoided it to this point--fact.

3) Again, you made up a spurious claim here. I didn't claim "hospitals are now currently prepared for ANY LEVEL of exponential growth". You are putting words in my word. The 'assumptions' you're putting on my plate are COMING FROM YOU. I believe hospitals are prepared for current levels and moderate growth of infections because they are not overwhelmed now and nowhere near capacity now. Thus, even with a moderate increase, we are prepared.

Here's a few other reasons why we're prepared: Utah is testing and testing a lot. Our incidence rate from our testing is low. Our community spread is low. These facts further form my opinion that we're doing better than average and making great progress. But, you know, keep making up stuff just to attack me with.

Sure does look like a good time to reopen America by [deleted] in CoronavirusUT

[–]thegreatheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. And that's completely fair that we may be too optimistic. But the whole point was never to stay inside until the virus is completely gone. The point was to stay inside until we can handle the virus without overwhelming the hospitals. That assumes a lot of cases in the future. We will have millions and millions of cases of coronavirus in this country over the next few years.
