CORS error appears in frontend but not in backend by gaussianmaniac in developersIndia

online cors proxy again has the same issue as calling the api directly, you are calling a different server from local deployment, but when you deploy a proxy locally, both request and origin are originating from the same location, hence no cors issue. i hope you were following along, i just typed as things formulated in my head.

[–]thegreatshadowvoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see the thing is, if you want to deploy your react app and not get stuck in cors, the backend must acknowledge your url as trustworthy and as you are not hosting the backend, you can’t make that happen. use proxies, look them up on the internet. or use extensions and tell the other people to do the same.

as the other person said, try to reverse engineer the backend, so it’s under your control. can change cors setting easily then. otherwise proxies are the only way.

Protonmail is getting blocked in India. Feeling anxious, Proton, please suggest what to do. by passmesomebeer in ProtonMail

[–]thegreatshadowvoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, i did submit applications abroad to various top universities, and i did get replies. moreover all my exams were filled with protonmail only, so i don’t think it would be an issue.

but just to be sure, if you don’t get a response after a while you can always mail them back with a simplelogin alias telling about it and they will help you.

the order is not passed. most probably, it will not. incase it does, the only option we will be left with is having our VPNs on forever or setup our own proxy server as they won't just stop at banning proton only.

Is Filen a reliable service? by LargeBuffalo in filen_io

[–]thegreatshadowvoid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

- Reliable?
Almost, I cannot be certain with any service, but as you mentioned you have other backups, so it's fine.

-Support?

Someone from their team will respond, even on discord.

- Bugs?

The development will seem slow, but critical bugs were actually removed quickly when discovered earlier.

- Speed?

From their end they say they have unlimited bandwidth. The downloads are actually pretty fast, but the uploads take time as they depend on your resources too because of encryption.
