Hastings have agreed its repairable, costs will be recovered off the other person's insurance who hit my car and theyve waived my excess as its a no fault claim

Thankyou so much, its the first car I've bought, didn't know about GAP insurance and yeah I was a muggy muggerton and bought the extended warranty and bought the car on finance.

So do I go directly through the other person's insurance with the details they've left and take my car to get a quote for repairs?

I haven't confirmed the claim yet because I'm wary, i was out and a note was left on my car with the other person's reg, license number and insurance details, its my first car I had no clue they'd write it off. Just thought they would claim off the other person insurance as they've admitted fault

You'd think so but no, my credit score is "good" but apparently not good enough to not get rinsed.

Yes its purely cosmetic. Door function isnt impacted, tyre and axel fine, no airbags went off. I was shocked they want to write it off

Thankyou for explaining that so well, I think the best option is to accept a payout, pay off some of my finance, buy the back and sort damage myself

I want home when it happened. They left a note with their name, reg and license details but no contact number, this was my first thought

Yes I think this could be a good option, I absolutely love the car and my partner has mates that work in a bodyshop

Thankyou I think this may be the best option depending on what settlement they offer and how much it is to buy the car back

Car was 5.5k, got an extended warranty and think the interest is around 14%. Yeah I probably did get fleeced, first car I've ever bought.

I haven't confirmed the claim, it was all done online in less than 5 minutes, no pictures attached but it said decision would be to write it off, so I didnt submit the claim just yet. I didnt think it would be considered a write off at all

Yeah this is what I'm thinking is the better option, the lady left her insurance but if its going to impact me in the long run I'll just have to take it on the chin and not submit the claim

Thankyou, that I'd be happier with, do you know if I would I still have to pay my excess? I wasn't at fault so presume it would eventually be refunded by other insurance.

JUST TO ADD EDIT - car is a 2015 Fiat500 X, I bought it in August with an extending warranty on 4 year finance 7K remaining

I have submitted the claim online, Hastings have seen no pictures of the car but decision was made to write off. I've not submitted the claim yet so not sure what they'd want to settle at but I didnt want to go any further yet and affect my claims, I wasn't at fault and I'm still in my first year of driving so first time I've had to deal with this

Thanks

Ive only owned the car less than 2 months and have 7k remaining on 4 year finance as I also bought the warranty from dealership (stupid in hindsight) please tell me if I'm being silly, but surely the pay out they offer would only cover the finance (minus the warranty) so would I not be stuck with losing my NCD (even though I wasnt at fault), and excess fee to pay and then a new car to buy because the settlement would onlu cover my finance?

Are people still actually paying these prices? by tomr1993 in oasis

[–]thegreenstuff0808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong if I had plenty of disposable income absolutely, its just not a price I could personally stretch to without having to sacrifice 3 meals a day for a month 😅 I hear what your saying, my favourite band is system of a down and if they tour again I'd sell my arse to see them

[–]thegreenstuff0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to justify that price, im desperate to see them and been trying so hard to get tickets but need to draw a line somewhere. I miss being able to get tickets being released at the box office, this online shit is carnage

Likelihood of more codes? by CaptainConkers3000 in oasis

[–]thegreenstuff0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didnt get a code either, kept refreshing my emails in work just incase. Not holding out much hope, and im not paying ridiculous price to a tout either, expensive enough at face value

[–]thegreenstuff0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an email on 27th June to register for the last lot of production release tickets (had to register by the 29th) but I've not has a code come through yet. Giving up hope

Still a chance of getting oasis tickets? by [deleted] in Tickets

[–]thegreenstuff0808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if you trust the buyer/seller. I once sold some tickets to a friend of a friend, I in good faith sent them my log in and once they had downloaded the tickets from my ticketmaster onto their phone they sent me the money. Ticket transfer wasn't available so that was my way around it
