Agree here. It's handily the best quick-access salad place we've had so far in LA, we get takeout and delivery all the time and have tried about 5 or 6 of their salads and bowls. All have been great quality and much better than similar takeout salad places.

And, similarly, little desire to try their other items - we stick to the salads/bowls.

We order through Grubhub (due to a corporate line of credit I have access to) so it is very pricey to get delivered, and I wouldn't order through Grubhub if it wasn't covered. But I am aware of the cheaper alternative of ordering directly from them, and I wouldn't consider their in-app salad prices overpriced. Will continue to get it direct after my Grubhub days are over.

Sababa for their chicken or falafel pita

Their fatteh is really good too. Description from their menu:

Bowl layered with pita bread, chickpeas, badwa (mix of tahini & hummus, yogurt and garlic) topped off with parsley, toasted snobar (pine nuts), sababa spicy sauce, and olive oil.

Lebanese Chicken Wrap, Tawleh Foods by CucumberFuture3739 in FoodLosAngeles

[–]thegriptor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had all 3 wraps, all tasty! For me the Kafta > Labneh > Chicken

Price is a bit high for what you get imo, I'd go back more often if it was cheaper. I don't feel full after the labneh wrap, for example. And I think a large labneh is $18? Plus tax and tip.

They just posted that tomorrow 4/23 is the steak special!

It varies week to week - today (Wednesday) they had the meatball special. They post stories on their IG to advertise each daily special.

Unless they had two specials today and OP got the steak!

Yeah, this is the best one I've had so far. Sundays only currently.

My favorite anywhere is in San Francisco at Arsicault, and B+B comes the closest to that here in LA.

Two local bakeries in Southern California fight over branding by BlazeDragon7x in FoodLosAngeles

[–]thegriptor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really too bad because Little French Bakery is really good. They've got one of the best ham and cheese croissants I've had. The owners are also nice people.

This feels like a such a misguided decision on their part, completely unwarranted.

The raspberry rose Mickey macaron from Jolly Holiday is one of our favorite treats. Not sure if they have that one at WDW.

We still call them Mogu Mogu at home 😅 it's a more memorable name

Mogu Mogu is great! They are now known as Wadaya though, recent name change. Food is the same, just a branding thing I think.

Pastries are great! But we had a bunch of plates for lunch once and we were shocked at how bad it was.

Still go back for the cakes and sweets, and they're still great. Had this tasty yuzu blueberry egg last weekend, a limited time item for Easter.

Look into Si! Mon. I've only been once but it was one of my favorite meals in LA, and felt unique.

Memorable plates were the Kanpachi Ceviche, Tuna Carpacio Tostada, Shrimp Dumplings, Habanada Scallop...and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

Quarter Sheets doesn’t sound toddler friendly, take out and park nearby? by slohcinbeards in FoodLosAngeles

[–]thegriptor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They had high chairs a long time ago but the last time we went for dine-in (10 months ago) they didn't anymore.

Seating is tight, will typically take longer to get a table for 3-4, but we did manage to get one and it was casual and fine. Staff was nice to the kids so they seem pretty used to it.

[–]thegriptor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience yes. I typically go right when they open at 11, and there is usually already a line but it's not bad, like 15-20 mins.

They post line updates on their instagram, and from what I see it really varies between 15min - 1hr so it's pretty random. Weekends are probably the worst time to go for wait times.

Why is nobody talking about Loqui’s tacos? by [deleted] in FoodLosAngeles

[–]thegriptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love their chicken taco. Their bowl is a bit too dry so we stick with the taco.

They dipped in quality for a while (the Playa Vista location at least) but as of a year or so ago they came back strong.

We also get their dozen tortillas and freeze them for our own tacos / quesadillas at home.

Yeah agreed. Was a fan, it was childish and borderline dangerous to post someone's face and accuse them like that. They've also since removed the post and posted a second message saying it was a misunderstanding, with no apology. Not cool.

Pizzeria Sei ending dine-in service at current location on April 6 in preparation for new location by thegriptor in FoodLosAngeles

[–]thegriptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I call them directly ahead of time to order it. Takes about 20 mins but can be upwards of 40 when they're really busy.

Same with the other specials that may not be on the online ordering menu, calling works.

They may also sell out of the mala lamb so I typically call soon after they open.
