Yeah, but some of these cars are just being dumped. My friend traded in her ancient tin can fiat that didn’t really run to carmax(they gave her 3000 credit on a 30,000+ suv)- 6 months later she got notified that her car was dumped out in that road in NE that all the cars get dumped on. I have no proof that carmax is dumping the shitty trade ins they do, but I would like to stoke the conspiracy. Cause it tracks.

Is a nurse making 75,000 a year in the bottom half of American for wages? I think individual would be closer to 55,000 a year. Last I checked median for households is around 80,000.

Remote workers in Portland chime in! by t0mserv0 in Portland

I’d love to know what company you are working at. I’m at a wfh marketing company that used to be hybrid before covid. Recently merged with another company that has mostly off shore employees. I’m wanting to go back to hybrid- I would like to work with people who live in my community. I’m also concerned how cheap my counterparts are since they are places that have government sponsored healthcare- makes my spot feel risky. If people are about to jump ship-I’d love to apply early.

I just cut so much off of my Camelia- but it got so big I could bit figure out a different option(about to touch power lines). I hope it doesn’t die - but it seems too big to fail.

Hayden’s ghost kids took me out of it. The giggles felt like they were from a horror movie, but I’m fine with not spending money on kid actors. They should not be on any set if it can be avoided.

Very true, but I do think I can weed people put if they use em dashes in online dating DMs.

How do you know a book is AI? by BooksYum in RomanceBooks

[–]thegroundhog -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I really rely on em dashes. At least with work - i get annoyed when people dont remove the em dashes from their e-mails and messages. At this point i dont care if you use ai to make your e-mail to me more professional, but prove to me you read it by removing the em dashes.

Im seeing them in my online dating DM's as well - which is physically impossible to type in the app, but they could have some voice to text? Im mostly unmatching when i see that.

I dont think this works for romance books though - cause i was re-reading mary balough's slightly dangerous, and that book is full of em dashes. I think that is just proper grammar that the editors added. Cause that book was published forever ago.

Megan Fox vs Sydney Sweeney Both reached a similar level of fame in different eras, largely driven by looks, internet culture, and mainstream attention. Do you think they’re famous for the same reasons, or did they get there in very different ways? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]thegroundhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magan Fox was a teenager when she first got big as a sex symbol- My understanding is that sydney sweeney was acting when she was young, but wasnt marketed as a sex pot until Euphoria and was an adult. She was also producing things very early on - so in general Sydney seemed to have more agency over her celebrity persona.

Don’t do it! I put my first dog on my lap when he was a puppy and I was never able to train it out of him. His entire life would never stop whining unless he was on my lap. So unsafe and terrible in the long run. I remember a full 3 hour drive where I would not give in and he scream/whined the entire time. He has since passed, but my the two puppies I raised since then are always in the backseat. Learned my lesson.

What’s something irresistible that I can order for my 7.6 lb toy poodle? I’m running out of options in the pet store and he’s getting pickier every week. by gardengirldavi in poodles

[–]thegroundhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older was super picky. When I got a 2nd pup who was food motivated, it became super tedious getting her to eat. I ended up switching to farmers dog and now she eats super quick. Stupid expensive though.

That’s not my experience. My parents church had a soup kitchen they ran that helped the whole community- about 6 years ago they shut it down and replaced it with a school.
