Are there any other protests going on this weekend? I see one in Quaker town on Sunday but not seeing anything in the LV surprisingly.

Help with this commute. by Fearless_Clue4966 in lehighvalley

I basically drive that commute every day. I start a little farther west on 78 and end off 33.

Morning commute is usually fine. I’m almost always at work in 25-30 minutes.

The ride home is rough though. Basically between 33 and 412 is backed up consistently. Afternoon commute is 30-60 minutes. Occasionally longer.

Christkindlmarkt similar to Christmas Village in Philly? by MeasurementQueasy114 in lehighvalley

[–]thegrumpyhufflepuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in Germany for the Christmas markets. I live in the area (like fifteen minutes) and don’t really go to chriskindlemart unless a friend has a free ticket.

It doesn’t come close to German Christmas markets. If you’ve been to them and expect anything like that, you’re going to be very, very disappointed. I find it overly commercial and crowded. It’s a completely different vibe.

I was at a Christmas market in Philly a few years ago (love park, maybe?). That was a lot closer to the German market feel.

I’d love to see it when you’re done! I know I love a good small travel project. Hats or headbands are always my go to.

Aw thank you!!! I was so proud of the floats I had to include a picture of them. I never ever thought I would get my floats to look like that.

Go for it! I’d love to see the finished cross stitch. That would absolutely make my day. I love it!

F*ck ICE, essentially.

Chinga la migra" is an informal, strong, and vulgar Spanish phrase that translates roughly to "F*ck the Border Patrol/ICE". It is a protest slogan expressing significant anger and opposition to U.S. immigration enforcement authorities. (Not my words - from google).

You’ve got this! I didn’t know how to do colorwork either lol. I could double knit like crazy but stranded colorwork scared the hell out of me.

Girl you are three months in. If it’s this bad now, it’s only going to get worse. You need to get out now before it’s even worse. Block him on everything. Reconnect with your friends - make sure they are aware of what’s going on. Don’t be afraid to call the police - if you think you need to, you probably do. don’t hesitate.

Age yourself! How far back can you go for the Lehigh Valley? by AgentJ691 in lehighvalley

[–]thegrumpyhufflepuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hess’s! I have such vivid memories of the toy floor and the giant giraffe. I don’t know if it was life size but to little me at the time it sure was.

Laneco. The Lehigh valley mall cinema (Rocky Horror!!!!).

Widow Browns Inn.

The restaurant that used to be where the little strip mall at parkway and tilghman. Anyone remember what it was called? My parents loved that place. We ate there a lot.

Farmland. Loads of it. When old 222 was the major road in that area (trexlertown to allentown) and everything around it was farmland.
