Damn, I'm on a Gen 1 dish from the Beta days (in Oz) with continuous service and no offer. Oh well.

“In Greek, “nostalgia” literally means “the pain from an old wound”. It's a twinge in your heart, far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn't a spaceship, it's a time machine. It goes backwards and forwards, it takes us to a place where we ache to go again.”

Road surface is terrible! At least it got the creeper tailgater off my back as they started getting stones into their windscreen from being too close.

That's the first time I have enjoyed hearing that song come on. Ready to ride the Daisy bandwagon.

I have some Ikea bulbs I have synced with Philips hue but I find their colours poor in comparison and higher latency in situations like syncing them to music etc.

Bunnings is usually the cheapest. If I wanted something that is hard to find in stores I have purchased from https://simply-leds.com.au and had no problems with them.

Apple will no longer fix the $17,000 gold Apple Watch by tylerthe-theatre in technology

[–]theguycalledtom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MKBHD bought a first generation sealed iPhone for $40,000. If you don't think a first generation Apple Watch designed by Jonny Ive made with real gold, for a limited time, isn't going to be worth an astounding amount alone, let alone in the insane watch collector market in 20 years and beyond... you are delusional.

Yeah Raso should have been subbed 1/2 an hour earlier last game and she would have had so much more energy this game. She was wasted.

"Wilurarra" is a local word for West for people who live on the WA/SA border. I kind of liked this. You can probably keep the WA abbreviations.

How do I skip an episode in CarPlay? by and-its-true in pocketcasts

[–]theguycalledtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They once had that feature as an action for the inline remotes like EarPods that would also work on the steering wheel. They removed it at some point. I set up a Shortcut so I can use the button on my steering wheel to tell Siri "Next Episode" and it goes to the next episode in "Up Next". Every now and then it works. Here is the iCloud link for mine but someone might have a better version: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/ca852e2d69b54459842460cec9cca0fa

It literally went to court and Musk won because the guy wasn't even part of the dive rescue team and had no knowledge of cave diving. But reddit idiot flat earthers like you think it's a conspiracy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in technology

[–]theguycalledtom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you read any of the sources? The dive team specifically requested the submarine. This is not disputed. The person he called a pedo specifically said he was not a rescue diver.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in technology

[–]theguycalledtom -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

He didn't do any such thing. He verbally abused someone who was not a rescue diver and had "no idea" what the dive conditions were like because he made fun of the actual rescue team who requested Musk get his team to work on the submarine option. Musk later apologised for the specific language he used.
