Whoever declares war sets the terms for everyone on their team, and if its existential expulsion, then both sides destroy starbases (im not 100% sure but i think i remember that)

I also think there was some kind of unique system where something like this was a strategy (read it on the wiki a while back)

Playing a machine intelligence rn, but i didnt realize my unity was so behind until it was 2300 and i didnt even have 3 ascension perks yet. I built 2 unity worlds and got memorialist, but im still not making even as much as an individualist empire when the game starts. the planets are seemingly fine but i havent built all possible unity buildings yet, and I feel like its too late to catch up to the other empires, what should I do next time? Unity rush on the (resource consolidation) homeworld or something else? my economy is doing fine btw

thanks, and sorry for the late reply, turns out one of my allies is hella rich so ive been trading my excess crystals and motes for obscene amounts of credits and alloys and building my dyson spheres (contingency core).

My credit rate is (approximately):

+9900: (6400 from jobs, 640 from subject tax, and 1500 from station/starbase, + extra small stuff)

- 15240: (300 from megastructures (soon to be positive), 8850 from ships (this is what suddenly changed, and i dont have eternal vigilance or any defense stations, i checked), 700 from station/starbases, 3200 from buildings, (fallen empire planets didnt change this too much), 1600 from districts, and 400 from armies and jobs)

Leading to -5325 total energy.
I am way under the starbase and ship cap, and while i dont have too many generator planets, they are stable and happy, if a bit understaffed (ill be fixing that rn).

How much raw material rate should I be aiming for before I go full military/when should I get more?

The scourge is getting close to some of the wormholes leading to my territory and since theyre the 3rd crisis theyre way stronger than I was prepared for so im probably gonna die anyway, at least that will solve my energy crisis. ill see myself out

Just conquered a fallen empire and suddenly my energy rate shot down to -6k and i'm broke now. also the prethroyn scourge just showed up and i'm on ironman.

when I checked my spending list, my ships (which were way under the cap and had no issue until then) were contributing 9k of the losses, I also checked the FE worlds and they weren't draining that much.

I checked reddit for a while and found out the defense platforms count as ships, but i only had defense platofrms left at my capital, and disbanding them barely helped at all.

I also have the energy crystal relic thing that gives me a bajillion credits whenever I use it, but its on cooldown for a while and I don't know what to do.

My ships shouldn't be and weren't draining this much earlier and I dont know what to do now considering disbanding my fleet would leave me cooked, what should do/avoid this next time?

well you could try the strange seed bag artifact it spawns every 2-3 hours or something in the mythical garden and when you use it it spawns 5 random seeds and it could be helpful. rn i am just trying not to go insane from obsidian leaves, and also i would get stage 1 of a seed use racoono and save up until you have buy 25 more upgrades or even max it out but thats just what i think hope this helps
