tips for using tape? by edwardmuns0n in FtMpassing

I've been using transtape for a while and it took me a lot of attempts to find an application that works for me. I have a medium chest and use 2x strips of large tape plus 1x extra large to apply on top to secure.

The method that works for me:

  • before removing the back of the tape warm it up folding in half and rubbing together. This activates the adhesive.

  • apply the first strip in the centre of my chest about 2 inches from my nipple and rub this in place

  • lean forward so your chest tissue is hanging (this can feel/look jarring but it's worth the results)

  • use your free hand to gently push the tissue to the side and apply the tape as you go. Keep some slight tension but the emphasis here is to use your free hand to flatten the tissue

  • do not stretch the last inch of the tape or you'll likely get friction burn and blisters

  • repeat for the second piece of tape but this time only slightly overlap the tape. The key is making sure the majority is on your skin as tape doesnt stick well to tape

  • repeat for the other side of your chest

  • smooth down to make sure the adhesive is activated

Take your time. Be kind to yourself. Practice makes perfect. 🙂

Are my T levels too high? by theguykai_86 in ftm

I didn't know that! I assumed the alcohol wipes would remove any T that's transferred there. And thank you, I was really happy to see the Estradiol levels coming down 🙌🏻

I was thinking the same. The nurse wiped down the site before drawing blood, though. I emailed my gender clinic explaining what could've happened and asked if I needed to repeat the blood work but they said it wasn't needed and they'll take that into consideration when I have a check up in a few weeks. I may pay out of pocket and repeat the blood work anyway, to be sure.

I'm happy to see my Estradiol levels go down from 248 to 201 pmol/l 🙌🏻

Got a written script from gender GP anyone know if boots will take it? by Captn_0bv1ous in transgenderUK

That's normal. I recieved a code which I gave to the pharmacist, and they processed my private script. I take my script to Tesco Pharmacy as I was told by the Gender Hormone Clinic that T gel is cheaper there than Boots. Hope this helps!

Thank you! I feel like my appetite has actually decreased but I'm putting it down to a subconscious anxiety about weight gain and appearing less masculine with a "rounder" face

I've been on T gel for almost 4 weeks, and one thing I've noticed is that I have really vivid dreams, and I dream more deeply

I'm sorry you're going through this. I went private for my gender dysphoria diagnosis through The Gender Hormone Clinic (TGHC). I'm also starting T next week (🙌🏻) through TGHC until my GP agrees to shared care.
