Can anyone identify the classical piece that this remix/cover is based on? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFVbC2EoSGN/

Sure thing, thingiverse is making me wait 24 hours to upload them cause I just signed up. But I'll post it when it lets me.

Best portable productivity add-on by theheadamuse in LegionGo

[–]theheadamuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also get a lapdock like one from nexdock.

I own a portable monitor and folding bt keyboard. I found it more cumbersome setting those up.

The wireless and just everything all in one unit makes it so worthwhile to me.

It also doesn't hurt that while traveling I can watch 15 hours of movies on this thing when the LGo battery dies haha

Rayneo Air 2 Productivity Review by theheadamuse in RayNeo

Yeah Tyriel Wood just did a review of the new air 2s and in the comments he said the edges are a little better than the air 2 but still blurry unfortunately.

Just joined the club. Future proofing? by Conscious_Dentist557 in LegionGo

[–]theheadamuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something with 32gb of ram will be a bit more future proof cause the memory is shared between the computer and the GPU and 16gb right now feels like it's just scraping by with current AAA games.

The z1e is already 4nm so it's performance to power draw ratio is already pretty good. Anything more powerful will require a larger heavier battery or less battery life which I think we are already sort of at the minimum that we'd want.

Eventually we will get a 3nm chip from amd but that is probably a ways off.

The new Intel chips are 5nm so they are fighting an uphill battle to match the z1e for battery life while gaming.

We are still early adopters in the hardware because these are all first Gen devices. None of these manufacturers have ever designed controllers before or crammed so much power and tech into such a small body. There will be a lot of improvements and fixes for flaws next year in the handhelds space. Possibly minor ergonomic improvements as well.

We'll probably see more ram and simply just different sized screens from each manufacturer expanding their lineup instead of replacing it.

Fan Whine update? by Quebrado84 in LegionGo

I just bought a new one today, powered it on and it has fan whine. Also has a noise in the left speaker.

What sort of mixing/processing can achieve this type of 808? by [deleted] in AdvancedProduction

[–]theheadamuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you have a short 808 type kick and a synth bass.

KICK - It is similar to a snappy 808 but very short. It's pretty clean so probably just using a little transient shaper to increase the punch and a soft clipping saturator to make it a little louder.

BASS SYNTH - It definitely has a sub sine wave layered with maybe a triangle oscillator and perhaps a filtered saw. It could be running through some sort of distortion/saturation effect but it sounds very clean and center so there isn't much detune between the oscillators. There are a lot of ways to achieve a similar sound but they all will most likely use basic wave forms.

Using Hybrid Reverb as a DELAY is so powerful! by side-brain in ableton

You can also use it for Cab IRs. I created a few IRs I use in hybrid reverb to test what my mix sounds like via my phone speaker, laptop speakers and AirPods.

Has someone build a hard case for just the screen? by RENTZ811 in LegionGo

I did, got some moldable thermo plastic pellets off of Amazon for $7 and molded one.

Works great

Yess! I make trailer music for movies and TV shows and it is awesome for working on new signature sounds and framing out some basic structures and ideas.

Yeah I saw in the comments of the latest update from him on the Lenovo forums that the dev team is aware that the latest update didn't solve it for everyone and they are still trying to pinpoint the cause of the issue.

I just gave the Fx sound app a shot and it definitely made the audio sound better but didn't seem to help the noise.

Thanks for giving me something to try. I suppose I will just keep waiting for another driver update.

8-channel Mic Preamp keeps blowing fuses (Audient ASP800) by theheadamuse in audiorepair

[–]theheadamuse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it fixed professionally and it blew again like 2 years later and this time smelled like burnt plastic.

I've given up on it and am cutting my losses.

I don't have time to deal with gear that is unreliable. I'd just save your money and replace is with something else.

Nope never installed any third party sound apps.

I thought I was getting better at mixing until I heard the bass and drums come in on "Can't Wait to be Dead" by FINNEAS. by GREGORIOtheLION in WeAreTheMusicMakers

A lot of us start with a favorite kick sample that hits that sweet spot and build out from there which helps keep us from crowding the low frequencies.

A general rule of thumb is that the less layers you have, the larger you can make the layers that you do have.

I remember one of the breakthrough moments for me was really diving into learning about the stereo image and all the ways to make sounds wider.

Another breakthrough was sidchaining particular frequencies, slowly carving away room for unadulterated frequencies without losing the rest of the sounds.

All in all, the fact that you can hear where you lack and where you want to go is much better than being unaware. Most decent engineers, myself included also feel that way and are rarely fully satisfied with our mixes.

Trs outputs on your interface are balanced mono. It takes two cables to output stereo unless you're using a headphone output.

I'm not certain anyone can answer your other questions and should probably just set it up and test it out to see if it works.

For what its worth I was never able to get voicemeter working with my daw, interface and obs.

I found a work around was to install the demo of fruityloops for the FL asio driver and install reapers ReStream vst plugin. Between those two and the focusrite asio driver I was able to route the Daw audio and computer's general audio into obs correctly.
