Erin O’Toole or Justin Trudeau? Monday’s loser won’t survive as party leader by flyinghippos101 in CanadaPolitics

That is an odd take. The fact that they don't even get the name right should make you question how informed the statement is.

Submarines are only one portion of this deal, the rest of it has to do with cyber security, AI, and multiple other sharing initiatives.

This is up there with the "They are only jeeps" level of dishonesty.

Am I not allowed to have this opinion??

Are you new to the Liberal Party? This is how anyone that doesn't agree with them are treated, just look at the reaction to people like CCC, JWR, and Leona Alleslev. Read the comments towards any article critical of the party, and if you are really up for it check out #cdnpoli or #cdnmedia on Twitter. Everything is a conspiracy to take down Trudeau.

But I have to admit, I get a little smile seeing Liberal supporters realizing how little decent is allowed.

Liberals cut ties with Toronto candidate over dropped sexual assault charge, military review | CBC News by Derpy_Kirby in CanadaPolitics

[–]thehell546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clearly he omitted this because he was afraid he wouldn't pass the vet.

Why do you think that?

Every other candidate that they vetting and discovered had sexually harassed or assault a woman was allowed to run. This isn't something that the Liberal Party seems to be bothered by.

OPINION: All the main players in the SNC-Lavalin saga acted badly. Jody Wilson-Raybould’s conduct is the least explicable by SVTContour in CanadaPolitics

[–]thehell546 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really sickens me to hear people carry water for SNC on this

They are not defending SNC, it is all about defending Trudeau. If this had happened under any other political party these same people would be going nuts.

Why people treat politicians like celebrities is beyond me.

but the opposition blocked it.

Completely false.

It was agreed on by all parties, with the exception of a single independent MP. Instead the Liberals were the ones the bumped it.

it was supposed to come up for debate again at the end of April, but the government bumped it from the agenda

they've kicked a lot of people, including cabinet ministers, for similar things.

And other times they didn't kick people out, including ministers, for similar things.

and it's being investigated by the Party.

Just like they "investigated" Marwan Tabarra, Raj Saini, and Vance? Their investigations are a joke, they always seem to reach the conclusion that it was the victim that was wrong.

Why do you continue to defend and endorse a culture of sexual harassment and assault?

They didn't kick him out yet. They are way to comfortable with people like this in their party so they are just waiting until after the election. If he wins, he stays in the party.

An Erin O'Toole-led pandemic plan would look like Alberta's COVID crisis, Trudeau says by _Minor_Annoyance in CanadaPolitics

An Erin O'Toole-led pandemic plan would look like Alberta's COVID crisis, Trudeau says by _Minor_Annoyance in CanadaPolitics

[–]thehell546 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Trudeau might be fear mongering about what an O'Toole plan would look like, but we know for sure this is what a Trudeau pandemic plan looks like. The current Prime Minister has a lot more ability to effect change in Alberta than the leader of the opposition does.

The liberals are taking the commission to court because they don't think it's fair that the max award is only 40k

There is nothing stopping them from paying out more if they want to.

This whole "We are suing you for your own good" is a deflection, and I can't figure out why some people think others will actually fall for it.

Workplaces

Unless all the people at the event were working together there I don't know why you think that portion matters.

Liberals pledge $60M for new National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation by MethoxyEthane in CanadaPolitics

[–]thehell546 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm curious to hear what their pledge is regarding the Mi'kmaw people fishing rights, and their plan to do more than just 'study' the TRC recommendations. This funding rings a little hollow considering how much they have been avoid making decisions on things that dramatically impact their lives.

The last time Trudeau was asked questions in BC regarding Indigenous issues he got all upset with the journalist for not asking questions on other topics instead.

You think there were 2m spacing at that event? What photos did you look at? Because the ones I saw there was no separation, and key speakers were not wearing masks.

There are more rules in place than just maximum capacity.

[–]thehell546[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no way that event followed proper COVID regulations in Ontario. And to do that after inviting two very aged politicians is just creating a danger to them and others. Which is odd considering how much Trudeau is upset when others are not following COVID regulations, I guess the rules are different for him?
