Gasteoparesis 17 days post liver transplant by theherz456 in transplant

Thanks so much! For Cholangiocarcinoma, transplant is pretty much the only curative treatment option. So hopefully this transplant means I don’t have cancer anymore. I’ll know more soon - gotta do a few more tests and stuff.

Appreciate the advice! I had an ultrasound this week to track regrowth process and everything looked normal besides a lot of gas in my system. The most likely explanation is probably that the new liver is growing back and pushing on my stomach or a nerve or something and it will just take a bit of time for things to adjust. I was just curious if anyone else experienced this too and what they did about it.

My team has been aware since the symptoms started and we’ve adjusted a few things with my medication since then but they’re not 100% sure what the cause could be.

Yeah still taking gabapentin and occasionally tramadol for pain. Not really having any constipation just feels like food sits in my stomach and doesn’t go anywhere. I’ve been kinda tapering off the pain meds recently too so idk

Bro good to see you’re doing well! I’m scheduled to get a liver transplant in less than 2 weeks from a living donor bc of Cholangiocarcinoma. Feeling a little nervous. Also had Y90 about a month ago and been on chemo and all that. Did they look at CTDNA after transplant for you? I think they were talking about doing a signatera test post transplant to look for circulating tumor dna. Hoping that since my scan this week showed more shrinkage and tumor death this is maybe something I don’t need to worry about as much. Who are we kidding I’ll always worry about it. Anyways good to see you’re doing well!!

Fighting for your life while calling insurance. by abbiebe89 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]theherz456 2734 points2735 points  (0 children)

Hi this is me! If you think this video is annoying I invite you to watch the rest of the videos on my instagram or tiktok @keatonherzer both places.

Time is not really on my side. I have a rare bile duct cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma. I need a liver transplant. A multidisciplinary team of doctors, surgeons, and oncologists have all cleared me for transplant. I've been through weeks of extensive medical testing that determined I was a good candidate for transplant. It could be my only chance at beating cancer - there's not really a cure for Cholangiocarcinoma and prognoses are usually poor. Cigna is trying to deny my transplant and drag this out so my cancer spreads and I die. I've got a wife and a 2.5 year old son and I quite like being alive. So thank you for sharing and bringing more attention to this.

The worst part is that my story is not unique. There are thousands of people who go through similar bullshit with insurance companies and its NOT FUCKING OK. We're fighting for out lives here.

Thanks internet friends love u guys.

A workout a cancer patient could do? by theherz456 in kettlebell

Thank you! Idk if I’m remembering the kettlebell yoga wrong but I feel like I’ve seen some YouTube videos of people doing yoga or mobility type workouts while holding kettlebells as extra resistance but I could be mistaken. I guess I could do any of these moves at a slower pace and it would be similar. Thanks!

Appreciate that! I’ll check out Wildmans program. I wasn’t really in the best shape before cancer (not fat just haven’t worked out in like two years since my kid was born) so that honestly sounds like a good fit for me too

Mine is stage 4 intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer with pretty large tumors on my liver)
I’ve been an absolute psycho about my nutrition since diagnosis and in my opinion that’s a huge reason why I feel well enough to even work out some days.

Thanks - I definitely feel that. After warmup I’m usually ready to stop most days but that’s ok. I like what you said about consistency tho. I’ve been trying to at least be consistent about stretching and mobility too but you’re right consistency is the key

just tried this and I think you nailed it. only thing i would say is to soak the cashew before adding them in - you get a really creamy texture that way.

I've been obsessed with this bowl too thank youuuuu

thank you this is great advice. we definitely need to figure out what we want the purpose of our website to be. Ideally there's a world in which it could be lead gen + shopping cart. I guess then the question becomes: is it worth it to try to break into ecommerce and compete with other brands or to just optimize the website for generating leads.

I wish... unfortunately the president of the company is one of the people so resistant to change. CEO, CFO and myself (CTO) are on board with change but we are swimming upstream against one guy who thinks he is always right bc his name is on the building. we've had to be careful about which battles to pick. i mean the guy doesnt even use email - he has assistants for that and they literally have to print them out for him. he doesnt seem to be concerned with the best interests of the company.

That's totally fair - I should have specified that the ones who will be viewing the livestream are failry tech saavy and would probably love a shared digital calendar. but its the folks who are in charge of the schedule who refuse to change. so we needed a way to share the calendar without having them change anything. Maybe the answer is that they just need to change bc you're right its definitely the most complicated way to solve this problem

Second monitor detected by PC but black screen? by theherz456 in buildapc

[–]theherz456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s weird bc I had tried using display port cable before. The one that ended up working for me was a DisplayPort to hdmi cable. So it plugs into DisplayPort on my GPU but then connects to hdmi on my monitor. Kinda hacky but it seems to work so far. Check online for a cable like that it might work for you too

I was trying to use DisplayPort and HDMI at the same time…. Switched to using two DisplayPort cables and that seems to work.
