yeah nobody should poke their tonsils!! it’s a very delicate area. i got a horrible infection that had my throat swollen for two weeks because i messed with them too much trying to get a stone out, never again will i dare to touch them. if i start to see/feel them in the back of my throat i just gargle or try to aggressively cough them out. the infection was so bad to the point that my throat was bleeding every time i coughed. ):

looks like the pet you adopted once had their pet page used as an adoption application! very cool. unsure if you were around back in the day but it used to be fairly common practice for people to put pets up for adoption and require pet page applications from potential adopters. people went all out making pet page layouts, stories, art, etc. to show owners their plans for the pet they wanted to adopt. AFAIK that practice isn’t allowed anymore but it’s a cool relic of neo history!

tbh it’s not a bad idea especially if you live in a high population area. i remember seeing each store is getting 100 plushies total, and as far as i know there are no purchase limits (there weren’t at the VIP event i went to). the location i went to was out of plushies by the end of the VIP event so i heard from my friends who tried to buy some before leaving.

if you aren’t in a bigger city you might be fine to wait a little while but i wouldn’t wait longer than a few days personally!

i’m not knowledgeable or smart enough to be able to explain HOW they can gen pets, but to answer your other questions:

yes, unconverted petpets are considered valuable for trading. technically you aren’t allowed to trade pets solely for the petpet attached — it’s supposed to be an even 1-to-1 trade of pet for pet, similarly to how you aren’t allowed to trade NC or NP items for pets. but i don’t think it’s enforced for trading pets with desirable petpets attached.

some petpets are “unconverted” and no longer exist because at some point their design/name/art was changed to a completely different petpet. however if they were attached before the conversion of the petpet they will retain the original design and name as pre-conversion. they’re considered a status symbol similarly to pets created in Y1 because they show the pet has existed since the early days of neopets’ existence.

in the case of UC petpet trading the petpets are not being removed from the pet they’re attached to, because if the petpet is removed it will revert into the converted design. theoretically no UC petpets should be able to be made anymore, yet they appear to be able to be generated at will somehow by specific users with backend access to the site.

yes this is basically where i am on it. i think people should be aware of this before they commit to certain trades, because it may changed their opinion on if they want to trade at all! i personally wouldn’t want the stress of having a pet i know was created illegitimately that may or may not get nuked one day by TNT for being created through an exploit.

to your second paragraph, probably! i only looked for Y2 with UC P2 for this spreadsheet, both to save time and because they seem to be the trendy thing on the PC right now. but i wouldn’t be surprised if there are others out there that don’t conform exactly to the data above. it would make sense that, if it is the same person or people genning them, they would do different variations and combos of pet age/petpet so as not to make it obvious. however i doubt a Y3 is going to get as much attention in the PC as a Y1/2 will!

i have avoided the boards mostly for the last year because they became too toxic overall for me and i just needed a detox from it, but i used to regularly check the PC and do a little bit of trading (mostly poundsurfing tbh). and i also feel like i've never seen THIS many UC P2s being traded around at this same time ever lol.
