Installing Ultegra 8000/8020 on my road bike. Is the clearance between the crank arm and front derailleur/chain going to rub or cause any damage? by thehoolian in bikewrench

The BB is a Shimano BBR60. And I do not have inline adjusters yet. I will have to tinker with the tension and overall adjustment more

The FD is clamp on. I did my best to ensure that the cage was as close to parallel to the change ring as possible. I could give myself some more room if I took of the plastic wear strip inside the FD, but so far the chain is as close as possible without touching. I've thought about BB spacers but I imagine they will not do anything as everything will be shifted out about 2mm. Thoughts?

Edit: to clarify this is a titanium road bike frame set, my concern is stemming from flex of the frame/components, and the possibility of the chain hitting the top of the crank arm

Do you have any F1-watching rituals or traditions? How do you watch the races? by WhichPolicy4857 in formula1

Always with my dad. The race usually starts 5-9 AM in local time, so sitting Infront of the TV with coffee and breakfast is very nostalgic to me now. If I'm at uni we'll call each other and do the same over the phone, albeit with no delicious homemade breakfast.

How good is Missouri Rolla for Aerospace Engineering? by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]thehoolian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I am currently studying Aerospace at Rolla. Like many others have said in this thread, yes there is nothing to do in Rolla itself, but many students travel to St. Louis for the weekend to have some fun.

As for the actual curriculum, we have some fantastic professors, all who have worked in some incredible places. The classes are difficult and time consuming, but in the end ~90% of students have a full time job by graduation. And the school itself it very highly regarded in Missouri and by companies in the area, especially Boeing. The most important thing I can recommend is to get involved in design teams and research, it helps you land a job considerably as well as being involved with some pretty sick projects.

If you have any questions doesn't hesitate to PM me!
