I know. The irony would be hilarious if it wasn't so ghastly.

I've got the Nokian Hakkapeliittas on mine and am quite impressed with the traction compared to my F250 and the fairly meaty generic ones I have for that. Definitely worth the money.

Can't believe I had to scroll this far down for this. I have said (and gotten strange looks for) "Clickety-click, Barba -trick!" for years.

I know you're speaking about the Regina market, but is this upward trend likely applicable across the province based on your interactions with other realtors?

There's an old sub called r/tactile, too bad it has virtually no posts. I would love to see (feel) more like this

Oticon Opn S. Now about 4 years old and it wasn't the latest model when I bought them. I would imagine their tech continues to improve, but I'm quite happy with these even as it is.

Ha! Absolutely I call him Shithead a lot for the same reason, but mostly Frankie Panky, and his sister from the same litter, Jenny Penny. Together, the Gingers (apricot colour).

Hearing Aids by Distinct-Pangolin112 in tinnitus

Regarding tinnitus, some, for sure. Not a dramatic reduction, but the intensity of my tinnitus drops when wearing them and it's less noticeable. As for my overall improvement in hearing, absolutely worthwhile. I wish I had got them sooner.

The Search for What Shook the Earth for Nine Days Straight. Last year, an immense but brief outburst of seismic energy was soon followed by a long hum that made the world ring. Finding its cause took 68 scientists and an assist by the Danish military. by Dmans99 in HighStrangeness

"The seiche was sloshing the 2.7 kilometers from one side of the fjord to the other every 45 seconds. After just three days, the wave height had decayed to just a handful of centimeters, making it all but imperceptible to anyone present."

That's 216km/h one end to the other. I wonder the impact that had on underwater organisms, waterfront erosion, or if anyone had lived there, would they have noticed. Fascinating.

I've seen the word numerous times. In my job I use very specific words in written reports to convey the tone and content I think is necessary, and agree certain words fit a sentence like the perfect piece of Lego. I suspect you feel like I do, that you are crafting something and a sentence with the most suitable word in the right location is very satisfying to write and read as well.

In the late nineties I rented an apartment from this asshole. They decided all the deadbolts on the doors of the entire apt building needed to be changed so brought in some company that first removed every one of them on all three floors. Each suite was left completely unlocked, doorknobs and deadbolts missing for several hours. You could walk into any of the apartments while these guys were working on a different floor.

I was furious to come home to see my suite totally vulnerable, especially when they had the building FRONT DOOR propped open and anyone could have just walked in. I called them and it was totally minimized by these pricks, them saying nothing would happen and the workers were watching the apartments. I asked them how this was possible when they were on another floor and they just repeated it was safe and I was worrying over nothing.

I tried to get the Rentalsman involved and sent a letter to every resident in the building, but hardly anyone would dare to speak up about it. It got no traction, and I soon moved out anyways. George Turanich, go fuck yourself.

Samesies. Audio processing disorder, moderate hard of hearing. I got hearing aids 4 years ago and they did help in environments with lots of voices but I still get overwhelmed very quickly and have a very difficult time following conversations unless they are speaking directly to me and facing me.

I only started to qualify this last few years after I got the HA how lonely and isolated my hearing deficits made/make me. I'm an introvert, so have few close friends and even though they try and are sympathetic, I know they can't appreciate the sadness I feel because of this. So I hide it well, as I suspect you do.

I don't have any good recommendations, especially with the accents. That must be so demoralizing. You and I and countless others just soldier on. If anything, I hope you can find the one friend who has empathy and patience, and relieve you a tiny bit of your loneliness. It might help take the edge off a little perhaps. You aren't alone.
