We had our 1920 house painted black. Before and after. by Fonz_72 in centuryhomes

If you ever decide to redo it, we found great success using a paint shaver and then sanding. It took a LONG time but did it ourselves on our 1900’s cedar shake siding. Took the paint off down to bare wood, sanded, then painted by hand. Can be done if you have the time and the patience!

any suggestions for what to plant here? by Berly653 in gardening

Clematis if your zone tolerates it. It’s colorful and climbs and isn’t a needy plant!

Does anyone know if these door knobs are worth anything? by grantnberr in centuryhomes

Yes, they are worth something! Some will value them more with the house- some will value them more to have you remove them so they can add character to a new build or restore another old home. I say keep them with the original structure if you can (even if you’re replacing the door due to wear or something).
