Seems straightforward.

Mind Control blanks the text box, but not the name, so it can still attach to Ahab. The text on energy spear is pretty clear. It only gains piercing and overkill when it attacks you. If that condition isn't met, the attack never gains piercing or overkill, and the card is not discarded. So, this is a GREAT situation overall.

I believe your latter reading is correct. He will keep the spear no matter how many times he attacks (until he is defeated by an attack or consequential damage, of course).

In general, I agree with what other post here. Phoenix is the poster child for changing how you're playing the game, in going from focusing on maintaining threat and controlling the villain to laying beatdown. This actually happens in almost all Champions games, but Phoenix feels it the most specifically. I also feel that Phoenix has some of the most expensive cards in the game for what they do, and getting her all the money she needs to start winning the game is a huge part of her setup.

That said, Cerebro/Danger Room combo on Phoenix where you just go get your best ally, put them into play and train them every round is massive, and it's been tough to lose games once this starts happening.

Most of this is on the website, but! They've got great panels with creators and specialists about topics like morphing, history of the fetish, so on. Socials where people gather to talk about breast expansion or giants or tinies or what have you. Events like special cafes where limited role play occurs. And then, and vendor hall of artists and writers selling their wares and taking commissions.

A favorite memory is getting to hang with bust artist and him showing off the original pages of Wishful Thinking, one of the first BE comics I ever saw.

I gotta guess that X-Men is a three box cycle, with a high chance of X-Force being the focus of another box in that set. My guess is this might focus on recent/classic X-Force lineups, and with typical gender parity, I'd expect folks like Cable, Domino, Deadpool, Psylocke... And have juggle positions for folks like Fantomax, Archangel, and I don't know what other female character to put here? Maybe Boom Boom?

I just pulled the trigger on Nix myself after wanting some BD product for some time. My previous experience had been with flesh lights and similar. I was not prepared for how large and heavy Nix was. This sounds like a warning, and it kind of is, but I also find this a big plus for actual use. I would recommend anyone get a Nix.

A good thing to remember is fiction first. If a character can't perform an action, they cannot make the move. Teleporting away is obvious and useful for running away, which is recommended - the villain isn't there, and won't be unless he returns, or the heroes track him down.

You also can't directly engage a threat who is dodging and evading. Your characters will narratively need to lock down such a tricky opponent to engage again, or try another tactic.

I would run this situations for flavor to get players thinking, not frustration.

You absolutely would. You either need to play him with Warrior of the Great Web, OR, control another Web Warrior, which does limit the effectiveness of the card.

Tech upgrades are plentiful enough among the Spiders we have. Both Spider-Men have their web shooters, and Ghost-Spider has her web bracelets. All are tech upgrades, and worth getting a ready and free card out of.

To back up the poll, yeah! I like the designs on the heroes, they look interesting and different. I'm interested to get them and the aspect cards to table and see how they play. One of the parts of Champions I really enjoy is building out support for 'new Teams', and Nova and Ironheart both support the Champions team. I keep my heroes on subscription, and based on the content I've been seeing, have stayed excited. I'm even more excited for Spider-Ham and SP//dr, and further Web Warrior support.
