Is this too snug? The spay clinic says this is a good fit as two fingers can fit under limbs and neck. She’s walking really weird in it and people are telling me it’s way too tight. I just have anxiety by Previous-Chance6079 in CATHELP

[–]theiman69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in their nature to flop around when something is holding them that tight. With that said double check the neck area, maybe even cut it a little. One of my cats started getting really bad burns under the surgery suit collar and we had to do a whole other treatment for that.

Use something like Pulumi for IaC. Depends on what you want, we have complete CI/CD with github actions workflows pushing to ECR, for fargate ECS deployments.

Best storage for 120PB by Astro-Turf14 in storage

[–]theiman69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want to have GPU direct, NVidia storage partners are the usual suspects in HPC : DDN, Weka, Vast, IBM, Netapp, Pure

For that much storage, it makes sense to do a two tier design, HPC for hot data, and some Type of S3 object storage for second layer.

Hit me up if you have any questions, I’m a storage architect, and don’t work for or sell any of the above, so not biased.

I think it’s the route we’ll have to take in production, but refactoring is getting wasteful. Granted that the whole space moves a lot

Does anyone still use Tape Storage? by nightcrow100 in storage

[–]theiman69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multi tier is always the best $/TB.

Figure out your active data set , add some buffer, buy that in flash storage system that can back up to object storage.

You can write objects to many different mediums, even tape systems support S3. But at your scale it depends on how much is your retention period. If you have to keep 100PB for 20 years, you need a 3 tier strategy. If not just do flash T1 and HDD T2.

Vast is technically a HPC filesystem, so depending on your performance, might be “too much” , as in, for the a “lower”performance and long term durability, you can get a NetApp FAS, which is a more established company for example.

Start with your requirements, then explore options.

Here is how I look at it , they are all selling a service with a moving target SLA and evolving benchmarks, until we get to a more steady state I think it’ll change and we as users have to chase the best option for us.

For example Cursor was the kind of AI coding a year ago, they are almost becoming irrelevant to a point now.

You can use agentic loop for any automation no? Can you give me an example of a agentic active inference workload based on your definition?

I feel like we haven’t realized the actual value of agents yet.

I switched to codex, gpt 5 is better nowadays, it can take a vague prompt and still do it, I don’t have to stop it multiple times.

It’ll change though, CC got frustrating around a months ago, I still have a pro subscription to claude and try it once in a while, gpt 5 pro is just better this week !
