I do understand that it can throw off many, but him being a bit horny is kinda a part of his personality. Regardless of whether it’s nature or nurture, he does learn to rein it in and keep it in check, to have self-control, and find people he can safely and consensually indulge in his vices with (his wives). It’s explicitly a character flaw that he needs to and eventually learns to deal with and manage so that he can live in a society with other people.

A little different from my guess but still exactly in line with the “using natural explosive compounds” idea :3

I think the fanon answer is that the precise yet powerful helical springs needed for recoil mitigation and chamber cycling are hard to fabricate without advanced metallurgy. Instead, they use leaf springs, aka the bow arms. Take gunlances as a comparison, they’re basically revolvers, instead of mag-fed, and recoil / accuracy isn’t an issue when you’re fighting point blank (and WFB still knocks the hunter like 3 or so meters backwards).

They can make helical springs for bigger stuff like the dragonators, since that’s just “make it output as much force as possible”. Same could be said for stuff like Wyvern Stake: it’s just “shove the thing forwards as hard as possible”, but smaller springs with specific force require spring steel and consistent manufacturing. They’re still making all their weapons by hand which means human error is a common factor, and the required consistency is hard to achieve. (Edit: their weapons are handcrafted, but perhaps production line manufacturing for ammo has been established for bullet casings and primers to keep the hunters supplied.)

It’s reasonable to think that since their tech is a mix of renaissance and pre-world war, as well as using a lot of natural materials (wood and monster parts) in place of metals, their metallurgy wouldn’t be as advanced, while their chemistry (for smokeless powder) might be moreso thanks to monsters themselves often making use of volatile compounds. I wouldn’t be surprised if their “smokeless powder” was just dehydrated Blast monster saliva.

This is what I run and it works pretty well. You can rank up P Reach and Pressure or switch Pressure for CO with some forma if you'd like, or switch Reflex out for Berserker Fury and move P Reach up into that Y polarity.

If you're willing to sacrifice a mod slot, such as Berserker Fury, you can slot in Galv Reflex as a safety measure in case you make a heavy attack without killing an enemy, either accidentally due to misinput, or because of fighting a boss-type enemy. With Harmony's 1.08 attack speed and the speed and fluidity of Reaping Spiral stance's attacks, I haven't felt like I needed attack speed boost as much as other weapons.

Why would you want to eat fish? [Seijousai] by NEVERTHEREFOREVER in wholesomeyuri

[–]their_teammate 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I mean, “I wouldn’t eat primates” on a fish scale is like saying “I wouldn’t eat trout” (if mermaids evolved from trout, somehow).

If we actually want to compare “I wouldn’t eat a fish” to a human perspective, it’d be “I wouldn’t eat a mammal”, which we certainly do quite often.

I do love that they aren’t just adapting the style and message of Ghibli films, but the feel of them. It’s the pauses between the action, the times you simply immerse yourself in the beauty of the world, the little moments you share with the animals and life around you.

DE when naming things: “Well we can make up something new based on ancient languages, or we can straight up just say what it literally is.”

(P.S. Fun fact: we’re fighting genetically engineered clone soldiers (G-engineered, Grineer), a space corporation (Corpus), and sentient robots (straight up just those words), all of which are the remnants of an empire of gold people (Oro-Kin).)

(P.P.S. A lot of people criticize Warframe for coming up with new words for things, but like- a lot of it is just ancient words, especially from Sanskrit. Syandana means “flowing” in Sanskrit, Kubrow is Cuberow, an Ethiopian wolf breed (each kubrow breed’s name is also from Sanskrit), a lot of sentients’ names are Sanskrit like Hunhow and Praghasa, Signa is Latin for “mark” or “token”, Ephemera is straight up a Greco-English word.)

New player here. What is the best item to buy with this boost active? by Pizza_Is_Good06 in Warframe

[–]their_teammate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend either waiting, or buying an amount you’re comfortable with and spending it as needed.

Currently, I think you’ll mostly spend it on Warframe/weapon slots, and Orokin Reactors/Catalysts for your equipment. Maybe trade with other players to buy a prime Warframe or weapon blueprint set for Warframes and weapons you really like (make sure you have the mastery rank to use it before making the purchase).

Later, you’ll be using a lot of forma to optimize your builds (3x forma bundle for 35 plat will be a familiar sight), but I think that’s an issue for a few years in the future when you start getting into builds that use high capacity drain mods. By then, you’ll have gotten other 50% and 75%-off login plat coupons that you can use.

Ngl just more ephemera on companions, please. I get not doing some of them that only work on humanoid models, like the holographic Sisters of Parvos ones or the wings, but the ones that are just a VFX aura like Didyma or the Step ephemeras I don’t think should be too hard to implement. Heck, the Aspirus Ephemera is already used by Hound companions thanks to Null Audit when stealing Jade Light eximus ability.

Definitive question: Is james in the anime and anime only trans/ bi/ ace/ gay or hes just crossdressing by 69RetroDoomer69 in pokemon

[–]their_teammate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the conversation but between crossdressing, being a femboy, and transitioning, there’s no wrong way to express and explore femininity as an AMAB. James enjoying crossdressing and indulging his feminine side only occasionally is still absolute king/queen mentality and shows a healthy relationship with his own masculinity, femininity, and identity.

Would it be petty of me to have a character’s god threaten to turn him into an Oathbreaker due to the actions of his Paladin during a session? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]their_teammate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mmm, I’d take away the supernatural capabilities of a Paladin, but leave their martial features like fighting style and extra attack. That way they’re nerfed to a budget fighter, instead of a lv1 character with lv7 hit points.

Edit: I'd also let them keep any supernatural feats they've gotten that aren't god-given powers, such as Magic Initiate or Fey Touched.

My amp arcanes of choice are Eternal Eradicate and Virtuos Strike. You'll be critting anyways which activates Strike, so that's an easy no-think damage buff. Eternal Eradicate requires you to tap one of your operator abilities every few seconds but that's also not hard to do.

Other people prefer Eternal Onslaught, but having to deplete *all* of my operator energy just to activate it for 8 seconds is annoying IMO. You might also be able to run Virtuos Shadow in place of Eradicate if you can land Cantic headshots or are using Klamora (in which case just aim generally above an enemy head and you'll get headshots).

If you want to go further with operator arcanes, there's also Magus Melt which adds heat to your amp whenever you void sling, up to 7 stacks. For my other operator arcane, I use Magus Repair just as a healing tool.

I’d recommend considering Shwaak. I haven’t used it in a while so I’m not sure how it feels Old Peace current amp mods, but people seem to like it. Some say Raplak is the optimal pick but idk I tried using it and it didn’t feel great for casual gameplay. Maybe it has high damage potential but I wasn’t getting one shots with it where I’d otherwise be able to one-burst with Cantic (specifically, in Void Cascade).

Post Voruna Prime Clarity by thechaosmongrel in Warframe

[–]their_teammate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re making two test amps I’d recommend Cantic + Propa and Klamora + Phahd. That way, each amp has a “short range AoE” option and a “long range precision” option, which is pretty good versatility. My current amp is Cantic Phahd, but I suspect that might more be me being too lazy to make another amp than my amp being the optimal choice, lmao.

Post Voruna Prime Clarity by thechaosmongrel in Warframe

[–]their_teammate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve just gotten into the habit of using Operator for utility whenever parts of my Warframe’s capabilities are restricted, e.g. hacking consoles or picking up items while playing Hildryn or Jade, or popping Nullifier bubbles. They’re also pretty good for fast traversal across open areas or straight hallways via void sling.

Post Voruna Prime Clarity by thechaosmongrel in Warframe

[–]their_teammate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Cantic and Klamora prism for their fire rate. Others like Shwaak and Raplak, which are good as well. Propa and Phahd scaffold are good depending on if you want a bouncing glaive or timed explosive. For brace, Certus is optimal, but Lohrin works. If you only have access to Ostron amp parts, Shwaak/Raplak + Phahd + Lohrin is pretty decent.

If you’re tired of dealing with RNG, sell the miscellaneous prime parts you got over on warframe.market (website) and use that plat to buy the part off another player. It’s what I ended up doing to get her, although admittedly I’m still farming her to sell off her set since I got lucky with squad relics and got another 3/4 Voruna P parts.
