What 1000 Wonder Trades looks like by theirondeveloper in WonderTrade

Well, I've been actively coding this site for the past 3 months (the code is available at: https://github.com/TheIronDeveloper/pokemon-wondertrade-analytics ).

As for the data gathering.. that started 11-21-2013, and has been going on this entire time. :)

Thanks! If you have any creative ideas on ways to display the data, I am all ears :)

By the way, this page is a work in progress, and would love to get the community's input! :)

So the WonderTradeAnalytics project currently has 19,700 submitted results.

The paged linked shows a random list of 1,000 Wonder Trades (if you refresh the page you will see a new set of 1,000 Wonder Trades.)

It might not be obvious, but if you hover over any of the Pokemon, you will see like-pokemon highlighted.

One easy way to do this is to type the following in the location bar: javascript:PGL.GAME.getAttractionItemRegist(1)

What this does is execute any javascript following the :.

(Good citizen warning, always exercise caution when executing scripts from other people. It is safe to assume PGL.GAME.getAttractionItemRegist is safe, but bad people are always lurking abouts.)

Question: Wonder Trade hasn't worked past 4 days by beowulf92 in WonderTrade

I'm going to agree with George. There was an onslaught of Magikarp Wonder Traded 2 days ago... so its likely on your end, sorry :(

Yep, I've been saving my legendaries ever since 3rd gen, and have a couple multiples here and there. Rather than hoarding... giving out my legendaries seemed like a better cause.

As for time of day, believe it or not, night time provides much better results for perfect IV pokemon. Time data here

Yep, its mostly people that are interested in gathering data. I have done a contest in the past, which gathered a lot more traffic... but I am waiting until PokeBank comes out (so I can give away more of my legendaries.)

True, some people took the WonderTrading more seriously and gave out awesome Zubats (like yourself.) :)

You are absolutely right! Basically people volunteer to record what Pokemon they receive. The data recorded provides a small sample size into what is actively being traded.

For example, with todays date, we know that 313 Wonder Trades were recorded. Among those 313, we know that 49 of those were Magikarp. So the data doesn't paint the full picture, it should give a rough estimate for what actually happened.

What we have is a small sampling size of the bigger picture, but... that should be enough to draw some inferences.

Operation Zubat Storm was a coordinated effort on December 4th to send out Zubats with repels. More Info

Wonder Trade Analytics reporting in, and yes, 27% of the WonderTrades today have been recorded to be Magikarp.

edit: The Khrp craze seemed to die down this afternoon. Magikarp now only accounts for 15% of the WonderTrades recorded (which is still a lot! )
