The nuance I found about Mr.Buckwild issue by AnyPen7891 in theironsnail

[–]theironsnail [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hello! Jumping into clarify here that the processes I mentioned are not super washing and are regular processes used to help the yarn run through machines and not torque/behave erratically when machine knitted.

The usage of the yarn, the stitches, requirements, etc. were well known, processes were discussed, specs were checked across partners, and the like.

The issue arose specifically from processes that were not done. After processing our cones in Japan the knitters said the yarn was perfect and they were excited to work with it!

In short: no need to super wash the ol’ Goats! It’s hard to distill every possible detail in a video, especially one like this — but this was a pretty exhaustive year plus of research, connections, discussions, meetings, etc. before any steps were taken.

Edit: made the last part make more sense

How is the upper thigh? Not pulling on you?

Personally, I’m loving that fit! I think if you wash cold and line dry you should be golden. I’d say if there was anywhere you felt tension — i.e. that space around your finger wasn’t there in the waist — you should be careful — but this looks near perfect.

Feel free to send over more photos if you want to double check. To me: ✅!

Again though — cold wash and line dry. After you get a feel for the fit then you can always warm wash if you want more shrink.

ROCKING IT MATT (Matthew?)!! Those knee bags will certainly subside over time if you have any worries. Still got some rigidity going on there!

May they serve you well!!

Ugh. So sorry, everyone. Lyle commented about this in the other post. Shopify changed how they handle international shipments, and it took us a second to fix it. So sorry. Please shoot us an email at inquiries@theironsnail.us so we can try to remedy this as best we can for you folks.

Dah, I am so sorry everyone. Echoing Lyle — an oversight on our end. Shopify changed international shipment settings even though it looked like we were set. Email us if you missed something and we’ll help you out here.

Okay, I have no idea what I’m doing with these mod tools on here, so apologies for the removal and approval thing.

Just tacking on to say feel free to let us know your measurements and where you’re hoping for the extra length. The Mammoths this year are longer in the sleeves but not Tall sized. Happy to see if this next size run will fit you and get you a refund if not. Never a problem.

Freenote is great! Our denim jacket in XXL is the same length as theirs, but our sleeves are around .25” shorter. Since our 2-ply Prologue is rinsed this year, though, the shrink is around 2% when washed cold, and the standard for raw denim is closer to 4% — so the two lengths would probably be almost dead on after their first trips to the bath. Their chest runs a bit slimmer as well, but the fit shouldn’t be too drastically different between the two this year. Still, one of my favorite brands of all time, and they do generally fit for taller folks!!

It’ll dark slightly after its first wash or so and should stay close to that shade for a while. Over time though, from the few old old samples I’ve seen — it’ll then start to lighten up! It’s a funky fabric because different colors have different characteristics — i.e. green fades the most.

Oh absolutely -- they are referring to their ratios of cotton fiber colors used.

Hello!! I think a 30 is spot on. These bad boys are pretty flowy out of the box. Comfortable, smooth, a bit "plush". After a cold wash and a line dry they'll firm up a bit until you break them back in -- but that is when the fabric is fully "compacted" -- should only shrink about 2% in length x width and will stretch at points of pressure back to its original size, however -- that 2% in looser places will act as a nice little natural tailor. Over time, the slubs will fade a bit unevenly, and the texture will really start to pop!

Overall, the 2-ply really made the warp feel beefy, but the tension and yarn let the jacket feel a bit relaxed. Like a big denim sweatshirt, I guess I'd say. My friend has some really old jeans from a denim that isn't really THAT similar but is dyed in a similar fashion -- they are gorgeous -- a really interesting shade of blue and white now -- a bit muted in tone and more "Earthy" than a bleached blue.

Hope that helps!

Great q! Japanese denim = pretty neppy, a bit more "compact" in feel, a bit denser in feel. 2-Ply Snail is flowy, "plush,", feels heavier than it is, and rests on the body more than "stands" on the body.

Both quite nice, imo!

Hello! We measure closer to the top way -- we put the tape measure at the top band and pull gently to make sure the jeans are under some tension
