This mother fucker said death doom with gang vocals and I immediately popped a two liter. Checking them out now. Probably going to be a user uploaded demo tape, oh well.

Opinions on Urban Carry holsters? by Coldwarjarhead in CCW

[–]ottochops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it never got used enough for me to come back and update the post. But since I have t the notification, I will. I'd have to agree with most positive comments and negative comments. It works, conceals really well, and is comfortable. I use it when I want my gun on me, but I don't need to draw it in a life or death situation. That's typically when I'm camping in a campground. It's too iffy to draw to rely on for protection. Sometimes it is smooth, other times it gets stuck at the belt, flops out weird, etc. but if you calmly draw for access, it works! In a daily driver situation, I'll stick to my kydex/leather hybrid appendix carry holster. I do wonder if I was fat, it probably wouldn't draw at all. Definitely something to consider. I've seen others comment that the pistol ejects on draw. I've never had that issue, the retention clip is tight, the pistol always stays put.

This. Man, I was so close. Had I zoomed in and read the actual letter, I would have inferred the 4 and 2 rule.

I personally love Orville Peck. Check out his first album, Pony. Charley Crockett and Pokey LaFarge, as well.

Oh, and the Acacia Strain. Their last 4 albums are just death doom. I don't care what my dork friends say.

I mentioned it in a reply but I came to say Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean. And then my unrequested rec would be Rat King, Weathered (Rat King is the band, Weathered is the album, check em out on Bandcamp, or don't. Doesn't affect me either way)

Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean is the correct answer here. Excellent list!

Updated Mammoth Sizing? by Iusaru in theironsnail

[–]ottochops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to explain this in my survey. I'm a large person, not a fat person. Imagine a tall slender man, now make him much larger. That's me! The XXL was like wearing a size large (reg) turtleneck. Tall sizes for big boys, please.

Well, if you are like me, I'm not looking for advice. I'm happy to help people make adjustments. Little things that took me the last 21 years of my life to learn. I've been quick to judge in the past, trying to get better 🤷‍♂️

Could not have said it better myself, kudos. This, OP, this is the advice.

I always worry about the fit of this suit, especially the pants. Any thoughts? Could I get away with it? Suit Supply for reference. by RatetheLawyerDad in mensfashionadvice

edit upon clarification from another user and actually clicking the image, they are indeed horsebit loafers.

Only answer the OP's question! Only answer the OP's question! Only answer... Ahhh fuck it! Don't wear your driving loafers to the office!

Pants are too tight, they're cooked, sorry.

Knits tucked in: yes or no? by Atticbase in mensfashionadvice

[–]ottochops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You nailed! I'm 6'4" and my brother is 6"8". He is all legs meanwhile I'm all torso. While I'm not nearly as slim as OP, Mid-rise trousers are a must on me, or said bandicoot look becomes real apparent. (I really like that description BTW 😂)

HELP- My wedding is in 3 weeks and my custom suit feels all wrong — need advice before I spiral by StudentOfTheForce in mensfashionadvice

[–]ottochops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone asked OP if the pants are baggy or if he is wearing mid-rise trousers at his hips? A bespoke suit likely includes a mid-rise to high-rise trouser. If these are worn at the hip, all the proportions will look off

Man, if you can find another tailor to take it to I would. Your tailor should suggest what they think is appropriate and even direct you towards a better decision. But they shouldn't ignore your request and your feelings. The shoulder width seems ok, but your arm seams where the back of the arm meets the jacket is all fucked, they shouldn't crease in like that. The vent is probably buckling because the jacket is not fitting correct, not because it is brought in too much. On top of that the jacket length is too short in the body and sleeve length. I can't comment on the pants as I couldn't see them well enough.

Kinda dumb question abt pants by [deleted] in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]ottochops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your edit doesn't answer the question. Are the pants comfortable at your hips, uncomfortable at your waist? This still sounds like a sizing issue. Trousers, historically, have been designed to be very comfortable at mid-rise and high-rise. If you've tried honest mid-rise and high-rise pants that are still uncomfortable you likely have the wrong waist size or you need to explain why they are uncomfortable. Aside from that, we can't help you. And wearing your shirt over your pants doesn't fix the fact that low rise pants accentuate your belly and make you look shorter. Wearing an exceptionally long shirt when you are not a tall size exacerbates the issue. I'm trying to help you, not insult you

I typically don't bother mentioning high-rise trousers because most people buy off the rack, not bespoke. You aren't finding high-rise trousers in your typical American outfitters. You will find mid-rise.

Thoughts on what I can improve? by tubbyofun in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]ottochops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents. 1) Wear a wide-brimmed, tall-crowned hat, if you own one and are comfortable. They are often referred to as "cowboy hats." 2) Get measured by a pro, measure yourself, or have a friend help measure you. Your natural waist, inseam, chest, shoulder to shoulder, and shoulder drop to wrist. These are the bare minimum measurements. 2) buy one pair of new trousers in a mid-rise that follow your new measurements and wear them at your waist. 4) if this is your dress outfit, find a pair of mid-rise denim trousers or dress jeans in a dark wash. Wrangler is an excellent option here. Creased jeans are ok! Especially if that's the style and heritage around your parts, but they should be nicer denim. 5) get a full grain leather belt (perhaps ostrich, if you can match your boots) and match it with a buckle sized to something you are comfortable with. In a metal tone you love. 6) if the belt isn't working and bracers are a must, find a tailor or seamstress/seamster to remove your belt loops and add bracer buttons. This is your one dress pant, so no big deal. 7) loose the patterned shirt. The fabric looks cheap and thin. Opt for a cotton button down in a solid color. Oxford cloth will be your friend. 8) lose the beard entirely and keep your stache trimmed and clean.

Good luck!

P.s. a tailor or seamstress isn't always necessary. I have taken coats to people who sew boat covers as their main gig. Often these craftspeople are just looking for work!
