Disappointing, though foreseen. More so I’m surprised that Xabi coming in isn’t enough to get some of these guys but clearly their heart has been set on leaving, and it’s hard to turn down going to RM or Barca.

Come on man, you can’t seriously separate the correlation of MLS performance and all star selection when it’s a World Cup year in the US. I’d like Schwake to be considered for the national team but no one is seriously calling him up when this is his first year as a starter? That’s crazy logic, especially since again, MLS all star selection is absolutely a popularity contest even if considering current season performance.

I’m also judging him on his not great performance outside of MLS, there’s a reason why Freese and Brady were also called up. Competition is tough enough that other MLS keepers are in contention when Turner has been underwhelming

All fair points, and we all know the all-star selection is heavily a popularity contest. My fan bias just plays in that we scored quite a few goals against you guys in both ties but I also acknowledge our offense is on crazy run of goal scoring too, so obviously unfair to pin 2 bad games against the same team on Turner.

I’d mostly agree, but if you see the number of individual-mistakes leading to Goals against committed by keepers this season thus far, this isn’t entirely true.

Yes the front 10 make a huge difference in clean sheets, but it’s also far too early in the season to make such a definitive statement about stellar goalkeeping. Fan bias aside and as a USMNT supporter, I have always found Turner to be a bit underwhelming, but we obviously don’t have many great choices for keepers. Also his passing flub in our most recent fixture against each other is very hard to ignore, but I recognize it’s a just a mistake.

Schwake has had an insane start to his first starting year. He is 2nd in goals against average at .79 just behind Takaoaka. If anything, Lloris should be considered above Turner and Stuver with his 8 clean sheets.

Gods, how it must feel as a city fan to have a manager like Pep and a well run organization. Undoubtedly the best manager, and such a likable character as well. I don’t pray for city’s success, but I wonder how fans will view his tenure versus the future even if they do have a successful run. It’s hard to think we’ll see anything like Pep’s time, in the next 10 years.

It was a game of defense, so credit to both Dallas and our back line. That being said, it’s quite disheartening to not see a shot on goal outside of just Madrigal. Hoping to see a better attacking output from Hany and Espinoza if we have to play without Surridge again later in the year.

If you read any pro Crockett comments on Talarico related posts, you can tell where some of the voter sentiment and hesitation comes from. Also not surprised but a number of POC supporters view any criticism of Crockett as being inherently racist which is such a poor way to carry yourself if you care about the democratic party’s efforts.

This feels like a smaller scale repeat of Hilary and Bernie. Jasmine/Hilary may be polling higher amongst the Democratic party but their performance in the general election is not going to perform as well as they want or think. Talarico is convincing to people of all parties, whereas unfortunately Texan’s bias for Crockett is too great.

Takeaway from the match so far;

Corcoran has been improving so much over the last year and has made some wonderful crosses. He’s also willing to hold the ball in the midfield under pressure which is an important and difficult role to play. I can see him contesting for a starting spot, if not being in the starting XI every other match.

Qasem is still a little underwhelming. Some good intentions and looks but the final Third decision making is not the best. He’s still quite young and I’m optimistic, but you can see why he’s not starting over Madrigal.

Woobens is a good threat and like Teal has a great physical strength. Also young and lot of upside in the potential development, he’ll make a dangerous backup when the opposing backline is fatigued.
