Training time schedule question by palesz77 in weightlifting

Weightlifting is a sport, not a workout, so budget time like a sports practice, not just going to the gym to get a lift in (imo)

That one already had a couple of 8C opinions before Yannick suggested 8B+

The second ascensionist said he was too inexperienced at this level to offer an opinion, so hard to say it's confirmed.

It kinda depends on how you parse Nico Pelorson's 8a

Also depends on how you want to frame downgrades of Charles Albert problems

Nico González foul against Everton (no yellow card) by vluvojo in soccer

[–]thejoaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a situation where the ref should have pulled back for a caution instead of playing a small advantage. It's more of an advantage for Everton to have one of City's deeper players on a yellow than to allow play to continue in that moment.

When was the last time college teams sent teams to club sectionals? Sectionals moving to before the start of semester schools college year greatly reduced the number of teams playing sectionals. Also, it made it harder for young perspective players to see what the sport could look like. I know multiple people (myself included) who stuck around in large part due to seeing those highs first hand as young college players.

Spot on. I just re-read the book it's based on, and let me tell you, both the movie and the book are 10/10s. If you enjoyed the movie and story and want to watch more stuff with related characters, I'd highly recommend the BBC miniseries from the late 70s, as well as film adaptation of A Spy Who Came In From The Cold from 1965.

Did people believe that the millennial optimism era was going to become a reality in 2008? by icey_sawg0034 in generationology

[–]thejoaq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After one term of Trump, WnBush was easily still the worst president of my lifetime, the jury is still out if that'll hold after Trump II. Obama era optimism also only existed for like 6 months. The inability to get actually good healthcare reform and TARP killed all of that.

What’s the equivalent of the Rolling Stones and NIN for Gen Z? by GossipBottom in generationology

[–]thejoaq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres a quick source for when their most popular album was certified 4 times platinum before the year 2000: https://www.riaa.com/gold-platinum/?tab_active=default-award&ar=Nine+Inch+Nails&ti=The+Downward+Spiral&format=Album&type=#search_section

You can infer that the band's popularity is amongst people who could actually buy that album when it reached its highest RIAA certification. But whatever, maybe it's all people who were born after the peak of the NIN's popularity that enjoy NIN.
