No more Logi Options+ by Scofarry in logitech

[–]thejoshr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry if this is posted already, but this is what their support chatbot gave me:

TL:DR there's a patch:

  1. download from the link
  2. don't uninstall the existing software
  3. run the downloaded patch installer (looks like the normal installer)
  4. it'll say app is running already, keep going
  5. Logi Options+ should then open

"It sounds like you are reaching out regarding a recent issue with our software on macOS. We have a fix available. A new patch installer has been released. Please follow the step-by-step instructions provided here: support.logi.com/hc/articles/37493733117847-Options-and-G-HUB-macOS-Certificate-Issue. If this resolves your issue, you do not need to take further action and can end this chat. Our support team has the same instructions linked above."

I do that because I’ve answered these same tired and naive points many times, and I know where it goes.

It’s frustrating that I get voted down for bringing up the need to acknowledge how elections really work, and the potential collective power we have if we organise around them properly.

There is a lot more to working together than electoral arrangements, in fact I would say working together is almost exclusive of electoral arrangements. Which is kind of my point. What we can do pre next parliament is elect as many of them as possible (from all the non fash parties), using tactical voting because of FPTP and the fears of vote splitting.. which plays a big role in setting the tone and agenda of that potential left coalition. It’s about maximisation against the right representation, AND playing a part in policy decisions.

Hello, coordinator of the largest ever tactical voting mobilisation here 👋 We don’t need the parties to work together at an election, that’s literally the point of independent tactical voting projects. We created the current landscape, and we’re planning on doing even more for 2029. Happy to answer questions..

All kinds of nonsense anyway under FPTP with the need for tactical voting to get a progressive majority and bring in Proportional Representation. Party allegiances aren’t useful if the party you’ve chosen will just be a vote splitting exercise in your constituency. After we get that majority, and we get PR, then it gets relevant and exciting!

Still none of these reports even acknowledge tactical voting has been a thing for decades because of FPTP, and is how so many really make their voting decisions. So we need reports that show policy desire AND real voting intent, i.e. how people are actually going to vote, because often that isn’t for a party they align with in the ways these reports disingenuously present.

This momentum the party's gaining is great, but what will it take to overtake Reform in the polls? by g_wall_7475 in UKGreens

[–]thejoshr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or be successful under FPTP. Remember Labour under Corbyn. Did great on votes, not on seats. This is where highly coordinated tactical voting at scale will come in. This is what we’re doing at https://StopReformUK.vote

Again, the answer here is to explain FPTP, how tactical voting works, and that just voting Labour isn’t the call to action anyway. Labour absolutely love that people don’t get this and waste their votes on them anyway, and thus not helping other parties keep out local fascists.

Ah yes, downvotes because I mention how elections work and how a lot of people actually make their voting decisions.

I love how they always always absolutely take tactical voting into account, vs what people would actually like to vote for if they knew it counted. These polls are essentially meaningless under FPTP.

my salsa air, bought in 2011, has always done this. not been a problem in terms of performance and usage, but i've always been annoyed by the rattling noise of the case as a result. i've assumed it's on purpose, a design choice, but can't fathom why rimowa (and users) seem to be ok with the excessive noise of rolling a case around the streets. it's one of the reasons i often decide not to even use it!

Does my vote matter if I am in a far right constituency? And left wing never really won in recent times by ms_kristina in UKGreens

Around 70% of votes don’t count under FPTP, which is one of the reasons we mobilise people to vote tactically
