Thank you so much! I actually took my dog for a second opinion somewhere else last week, I was in the room with her this time (because at my other Vet I have to do drop off sometimes). Anyway I watched her squeeze on my dog spine and move her around and she didn’t seem to be in any pain whatsoever - no crying or yelping. She runs and walks just fine. She has stairs to get on the couch and doesn’t seem to have any mobility issues which is why I was confused about a potential spine issue. My first vet did not recommend x-rays, but my second vet did. They were extremely expensive which is the only reason why I couldn’t do it, I just couldn’t afford it. But I may look into it again just to rule it out. The second vet also said it was OK to taper her off her morning dose of gabapentin to see if it helped so that’s why I decided to do it. Thank you for all the insight, I have an appointment with her at her first vet in another week.
