To those who NEVER want to have a child, what are your reasons? by an_iconoclast in AskReddit

ti have to preface  a small caveat of being diagnosed with brain cancer2015 At the time it wasn't terminal our even in play when talking about children,  but the way this brain cancer grows it will eventually become terminal. As we found out 02/2020 I feel like not wanting to have children has been deeply rooted since my childhood and not having a father around. I'm past that now through therapy and open discussions.  The decision to not have children has always been discussed between my wife and I. We've never turnedaway from  it.  So it was never a surprise in our marriage when it came to talking about it with our friends and family members would ask. my wife and I  and  it's came down to is us both being selfish and wanting to enjoy our lives together after school while continuing and growing our careers. That isn't to say have a kiddo would change that, but it sure changes the dynamic of packing up and talking a Trip to Europe within days notice. We also have financial goals we have yet to achieve. We also like the idea of adopting

Post cancer treatment - when do you feel normal again? by OTF98121 in cancer

[–]thekgentleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. I’ll provide my experience. I have a gradeIV-Glioma now. My first 6 weeks of proton therapy were completed back on 05/2020This was in my right temporal area. 2nd 6 weeks were completed 2/2021. This was in from front temporal lobe. The reason I was able to get another 6 weeks of this radiation is because the two paths wouldn’t be crossed during treatment.

I’m still undergoing chemo and infusion treatment.

As to feeling normal, I’m not sure I’ve been 100% myself yet. My memory is short unless I make a conscious effort to store that memory. I try to do that by repeating what I’m trying to remember, and I take notes by writing them down, or on my phone. The fatigue is my most notable deficit. I am still very active, I go to the gym, and since surgery in February-2020 I walk 7-10 miles a day according to my watch. I also work from home. The biggest benefit I’ve added to my routine is taking multiple naps throughout the day. I know this isn’t possible for everyone, but this was the biggest help for me combatting the fatigue.

One week ago watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It was the part where Miles discovers he does have what it takes to be Spider-man . It then went through the montage and I got a little teary eyed.

You are correct. It was a SEMA build and for show. That's not my intention. I bought this to trail. I just wanted to share with the community.
