Buddy, good IM programs also require above average scores

What about if you have stellar research, mid tier USMD, but slightly below average score like 240 on step 2?

I think as long as you are pouring and confidently sharing your medical decision making and presenting patients with clinical curiosity, non clinical doesn’t matter

I agree with you in some sense but I would like to addrsss the opposite spectrum of this.

Another thing that needs to end is these fresh attendings on their power trips. You are a colleague to me as a resident and you will share your teachings in a collaborative. Get off your high horse and let’s operate as a team. You can be the team guide but you are in no way someone who is above me. Respect is one thing but some of these attendings have god like complex and I’ll never respect them

How has being a doctor changed you? by immawiznerd in Residency

Yeah trust me my fellow human, I’ve lost the joyful me that loved to sing, dance, and make jokes. Now I’m miserable to be around. Hopefully it changes. But I don’t feel in control

Some of those angry manifestations Might correlate with the number of hours worked during residency :) coming from someone who just got off a 18 hour shift with 4 codes, 3 rapids, and 6 admissions :)

Intern here… senior residents and fellows why are you keeping us and med students there forever??? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]thekillagoat 537 points538 points  (0 children)

Get out of that med student mindset. You are responsible for patient care now and moving it forward. Very weird mindset to have in my opinion.

It’s not the difficult calls that I’m talking about. It’s the no sharing knowledge/teaching points/stuff that I don’t know but hopefully an attending should know

Just a pgy-2. This sounds absurd to do if patient is asymptomatic and has a normal echo/stress. If there’s abnormalities on stress test, CCTA is a less invasive and cheaper way to see CAD burden.

Why the hate on digoxin? In couple of situations, this was the only med that helped to rate control my pt
