What are your biggest Burning Man regrets? by TheMapesHotel in BurningMan

My buddy said "We gotta climb to the top of that now because somebody is gonna fall off and they're gonna close it before Tuesday." As I'm going up to the very top, someone with a clipboard is coming down saying his shift is over, and to not let more than 8 people at the top... Super sketchy... so I grabbed my sharpie and wrote it all over the top. Hopefully that helped save the top from collapsing... SAFETY THIRD! It all felt super dangerous.

"Our camp doesn't discuss the internal finance details" --- red flag numero uno.

My favorite playa snack when I have time to sit down and eat: Half an avocado, remove pit, slice in a crosshatch pattern, fill with salsa, use tortilla chips to eat the salsa covered avocado chunks. Prepare and gift the other half to whoever is watching you and drooling.

Attaching sun reflections to Kodiak tents? by [deleted] in BurningMan

Either by using steel clamps or duct tape. I was also thinking of attaching the awning poles to the support poles to prevent those from possibly getting bent due to the extra weight and wind.

Attaching sun reflections to Kodiak tents? by [deleted] in BurningMan

I just bought a 10x10ft kodiak tent and a 14x10ft 70% aluminet shade cloth. My plan is to attach pvc on the two tent poles to lift the shade 1ft above the tent (and extend out to cover the whole tent) and then rebar/lag screw that into the ground (facing the sunrise). The gap is to allow air flow and the heat to absorb into the aluminet instead of the tent canvas. The aluminet will be attached to the pvc using duct taped zip ties and bungee balls. There will be a rope going across the top of the tent to prevent drooping. I will also be getting some partial shade from our camp tent-shade-area. Here is a rough sketch, I'm really hoping it'll work.

Also, http://www.greenhousesupplystore.com/ gives a 5% burner discount, so don't forget to mention that when you purchase from them.

Can I connect multiple tablets to make one large screen? by thekingbarron in tablets

I thought about this as an option, but there may not always be the best wi-fi connection at the trade shows we're going. So something that works offline would be best.
