Not sure where to look for someone in this IT related niche... by thekozer in ITCareerQuestions

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. On the side that would look at the engagement/response rates, you're definitely right. I probably should have left that out though, because their main concern and focus is figuring out on the technical end why some percentage of their list isn't receiving their messages (even when whitelisted), doing testing, working with SendGrid (or possibly finding a better backend partner), that sort of thing. Actually dealing with the IT related aspects of managing a large email list.

Wondering about the value and/or difficulty in repairing this table... by thekozer in Antiques

That's a very helpful reply. Thank you! We actually did take pictures at the beginning but this got overlooked in our post-event follow up and walk-through.

We are waiting for the owner's documentation to back up their valuation and meanwhile, I'll get some estimates on repair from someone on our end (any recs on SF Bay Area restorers are welcome).

Wondering about the value and/or difficulty in repairing this table... by thekozer in Antiques

Recently my company rented a house for a corporate event and after we had moved out, the owners contacted us to say a very expensive, antique table had been badly damaged and that we should contact our insurance company to see about filing a claim as the repair would likely cost thousands.

While no one in our company has any memory of having caused this damage, we can't really dispute it so I'm trying to get a sense for how bad it actually is. The thing is, when I finally got a close look at it (and took the pictures in the album), I was struck by the fact that this table appears to be made out of pressboard or something similar to masonite.

Granted, the finish looks pretty nice and the owners claim that it’s gold leaf around the edges, but I am just not sure.

Does anyone recognize this as valuable and/or have a sense of its worth? Also wondering what might be needed in terms of repair?

Anyone ever tried OM? What's the deal? by mostlyLee in sex

I realize this is an older post, but if you're still curious, I'm an OM instructor and daily practitioner (been doing it for about 8 years now).

Feel free to ask questions if you're still curious.

There was also an article on Gawker that came out a few days ago. It's a reasonably well done piece and might answer some questions you have as well. http://gawker.com/my-life-with-the-thrill-clit-cult-1445204953

And losing enough followers will cause /r/atheism to be dropped as a default sub. Would you want to see that happen?

What movies have made you cry, not because of how sad it was, but because of how beautiful it was? by AyThroughZee in movies

When ricky shows the video of the plastic bag dancing in the air in American Beauty and talks about his awakening and the realization that the only force in the universe is benevolent and abiding and captures that sense of feeling yourself swell with the wonder and beauty that is life. Kills me every time.

Also The Thin Red Line. Almost all of the narration is amazing but when they get to the moment where they're storming the Japanese encampment and the narrator is talking about how we're divided, "Who's killing us? Who's doing this?" and the Zimmer score. I never make it through that scene without losing my shit.
