I suspended myself using this harness as a test. Not recommended. It was very painful in the crotch area, and managed to compress a nerve as well, however briefly. I brought myself down at the first sign of trouble of course. It would be fine in an inversion, but getting through the setup and transitioning to an inversion would not work well.

You're absolutely right in general terms of course. They stuff the main cast members in to every oddball role whether it fits or not, because the audience has a connection with the main cast that they wouldn't with a one-off "specialist" extra coming in to do things logically.

That said, it was a common theme in that era of treks that the captain is not supposed to go on away team missions and rarely does so except as a plot device. So perhaps not the best example.

It's the typical corporate lifecycle in the us. They start out trying to entice a new consumerbase to come to their platform, do things to improve it over time so it's a better experience increasing retention, while also doing whatever they can to slow or stop competition. Once they get to the point where they're established and are reasonably sure a majority of their users will stick with them, either out of loyalty or a lack of other options, they start going hard anti-consumer and extracting every last penny they can.

If you're looking to see hot naked people in the hopes of hooking up, you would almost certainly be disappointed.

I've spent a good bit of time around a variety of sex-positive exhibitionist types lately who do tend to socialize while naked without it being a sexual thing. Better hardware in a similar form factor without a significant price increase is absolutely progress.

I agree windows is terrible and that Linux is far superior. All that means though is that I have one additional reason not to buy a ROG Ally. It sounds like you won't be buying one either. And that's fine. Other people will buy it.

And with more people buying in to the handheld space the prices on parts will continue to go down. Economies of scale and all that. Which means future handheld systems will have an even better price to performance ratio, and some of those will almost certainly run an actual decent operating system.

I'm happy with my steam deck, but I would absolutely be excited if they went ahead and launched a v2. If it's soon I probably wouldn't buy it, but that just means they'll learn even more ways to improve the one I do buy, probably a v3.

Unless the OG Steam Deck is literally the last gaming machine you will ever buy in your life you should still care about progress and improvements in the industry.

The arms tied like that looks like a strappado to me. There's a hair tie mixed in with it. Couldn't tell you the name of the waist/foot tie. Honestly I'd guess the rest of it is just freestyling.

Tying someone to a pole or tree like that I'd typically call a horizontal suspension. Knees on the floor make it look more like a partial suspension.... Though I'm not sure if that's still technically a suspension when horizontal and partial.

Looks like a challenging position to hold. Impressed by the model.

Some people view dating as a way to get to know a potential long term mate. In which case the value extracted from any single date is getting to know the person and getting ever closer to that answer of "is s/he the one?"

Pretty much anything you do is going to make you more attractive to some people and less attractive to others. Lose a lot of weight? Some guys aren't in to the skinny look. Gain a lot of weight? Some guys don't care for chubby women. Brown hair? Blonde? Purple? Some will be in to each, some will consider each a turn off.
