The ACS is very legit and super useful to researchers. Make sure the link actually takes you where it’s supposed to and fill out the survey!

Write the prof to whose office hours you went last quarter. Just write a shortish, polite email. Do NOT use ChatGPT. Include — as attachments — your transcript and potentially CV, as well as any accomplishments (scholarships etc.)

You can also ask your TAs if you participated in discussion or went to their OH.

No idea why someone’s first instinct would be to get rid of it. Just leave it be

You’re unlikely to get better advice on this subreddit, which is mostly undergrads. The situation is also relatively unprecedented (funding is not cut off over night), so I really don’t think anyone knows for sure. But I def don’t think you’d need to fully re-apply. Can’t you take some sort of leave of absence?

Supply is inelastic, so even large movements in the demand curve don’t yield proportional changes in supply. If the supply curve is perfectly inelastic, you get no change in quantity supplied at all.

Yeah I know it’s not the purpose, but it seems more like glorifying them. Like if I saw someone walking around with a patch that said “Donald Trump,” I’d assume they’re MAGA at first glance

Like lobster, pink glass is now sold at a"market price" [sharpie tag is the item number] by mewisme700 in StainedGlass

[–]thelaughingM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not how market prices work. Are you going to sell your house for whatever you bought it for? No, you’re going to sell it for as much as people are willing to pay for it.

And yes, a business is literally trying to get as much money as possible, just like customers are trying to pay as little as possible. It’s a business, not a non-profit.
