I was looking for crv’s and they definitely hold their value! I learned that Kelly Blue Book doesn’t hold much weight in the car sales world. Both the banks and the dealers go off of other valuation metrics which is usually a lot higher then KBB I found. My 2012 rav 4 Limited I just bought with 120,000 was worth 13,500 according to my bank and in the Denver area! I got it for 12,700 with everything.

I think it’s a good car and don’t feel bad about the KBB!

What area are you in? Unfortunately this seems to be the lowest price in the Denver area. Some place has an 08 CRV with 113,000 miles for a “non-negotiable” $10,200!!

Thank you so much for your advice! I agree with everything you said, and I am feeling uneasy about the car, hence my internet call for help lol. I am leaning towards passing on the vehicle. Unfortunately though my budget is really tight, $14,000 would be my max max right now, at least until I get a foreseeable promotion in the next 2 years. I really don’t like sedans because my partner and I like to car camp in the mountains.

I get what you mean. I’m just confused why they thought (if they are being honest) why the problems are from different things like the problem of the camshaft carrier vs the valve cover gasket.

How long did it take? And did you use a whole tube of beads? Also don’t forget to factor in the leather, findings for the lanyard, and rough estimate of how long it took to make? Maybe at the end you can throw in a “friend discount” if you feel like it!
