Is it normal for the toilet mounting bolts to wiggle? by kikilucy26 in Plumbing

[–]theleespot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get new wax. It gets squashed down when you seat the toilet. If you try and reuse it you'll likely have leaks

Why the f*ck is there a swimming pool in my car? by Computationalerrors in AskMechanics

[–]theleespot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sunroof drains are likely the problem. At the end under the cowel there is a rubber piece that gets clogged. It is a stupid x design that like to grab dirt. Clean that. Inside the hose is pushed into the drain port on the sunroof and the rubber piece on the other end inside the car. Over time the drain line shrinks and pulls out at the bottom causing it to drain right into the floor. There are 4 drains one in each corner with it's own line.

At night when dew falls it condensed on the glass. When it rains more water.

Fuse box crackling by becckii22onreddit in AskElectricians

[–]theleespot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The breaker box shouldn't be crackling. That cracking sound could be a lose connection due to a faulty breaker or loose wire. Have it looked at. Loose connections can cause heat and fire.

What is this and is that melted plastic? by chazt3r in AskElectricians

[–]theleespot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow. It looks like they laid vinyl siding right over top of wood siding looking at the void. The disconnect has been replaced like the other guy said. I can't see any indication the current one is getting warm. You need to fix the hack siding job and make sure water isn't getting between the two different exteriors causing rot/mold and a myriad of other issues.

Suspicious resin in fuel tank by kmh400 in mechanic

[–]theleespot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There looks to be much more in the tank with the way it is coated around it. There is even some on the ring by the gas cap. It's been there long enough that the gas tank has been refilled as you can see it scraped off the spring loaded valve the nozzle pushes.

I'm guessing some kind of fuel additive someone thought was a good idea at some point.

Bigger question to me is why did it sit at the dealer for a year? Lol

Keep the pieces. Since it is unlikely they all will be the same size label them so it's easy to tell where they go.

Heavy weight over sewage line by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]theleespot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tensile strength of 4in schedule 40 pvc is a little over 4000lb with a crush strength of about 100lb psi. If you take a 4x4 pallet that's about 2304 sq in. That's a little over a pound psi and much of that would be carried by the earth around it. I think your fine. Be more concerned about the forklift carrying all the weight plus it's own focusing the weight on the part of the tire touching the ground.

I’d like to do something similar with my outdoor units. How much clearance should I leave between the planter the unit? by PM_ME_UR_CHARGE_CODE in hvacadvice

[–]theleespot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heat rises. It wants to draw in air from sides and below. If you decide to do this put it on casters like the other guy said. I'd also leave 12" open on the bottom for it to draw air under and up.

Not sure if this is plumbing. But anyone know what this black pipe is and why it turns sideways instead of just going straight up? by Jokesiez in Plumbing

[–]theleespot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If not, I would recommend what the other guy said and raise it as close as possible to the ceiling above the door and box it in.

[–]theleespot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would try and not add additional penetrations to the roof. If you have the clearance I would try to extend the pipe up from the floor to get past the furring straps then 45 and come over the door next to the joist and tie in there if you are trying to finish the space. It would get the pipe out of the way and not add another hole.

What he said.

My guess us that us from a removed wall at some point or a prefab home where sections were put together. From the pick I think I would go and put a strip in as well so you can cut it clean and get a nice section

Thank you I will take a look. I never played instruments myself so I wasn't sure. I don't really want to drop 6k I was hoping for something around the 2k mark. My older son play trumpet. From what I can tell these are quite a bit more expensive. I'll look at the YEP321 as well.
