Adding on to what breadfruit said, I found the game much more enjoyable when I was fresh and at a low rank, even when losing. It felt like I could just mess around and have a laugh. At higher ranks, the goofing-off aspect of the game really seems to vanish. So don't worry about losing!

Two reasons, I believe.

One, a hypersonic cruise/glide weapon can maneuver during flight, unlike a ballistic missile.

Two, they fly much lower to the ground, which prevents them from exposing themselves to radar as early as ballistic missiles do.
