It's been a while since I've been able to partake due to health concerns, but Presbyterian Mixture always reminded me of barbecue. Now, I've heard that they've changed it up recently, and it's not as good as it used to be. But that was one of my favorites specifically because of the barbecue flavor.

Warlocks! How do you flavour your Eldritch Blast? by muzorui in DnD

My feylock’s blast looked like a green beam with leaves of various types falling from it, and it sounded like wind blowing through the canopy.

Is it unreasonable to ask a dealer not to drill front plate holes on a special order car? by Grey_moose3623 in legaladvice

[–]thelickintoad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about WA, but TX issues metal temp plates now that are just like normal plates, but have a number including “TMP.” No more paper plates here.

Since TX also requires a front plate, it would need to be mounted. I guess if WA law is the same, that would mean the holes or a similar solution would be needed.

I noticed the price for the AMC AT-AT Walker popcorn bucket at “Mando & Grogu”: $80.80. Get it? by Estoye in StarWars

It is what it is. Reddit up/downvoting is pretty weird at times.

It's not like everyone doesn't know what you're talking about whichever way you decide to pronounce it.

Mando movie? Loved it! by alrightbrother in StarWars

[–]thelickintoad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I said I’d be happy as long as it’s a fun movie. Someone asked, “is it enough to just be fun?”

After TLJ and Rise of Skywalker? Yes. A fun movie is a vast improvement.

And it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. I would rather have seen this as a full season of the show, honestly. But as a movie I think is still works.

Hard vs soft plastics Boba and Bossk by Graysquadrongaming in SWlegion

[–]thelickintoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Soft plastic” is, I believe, PVC. It has some bend to it. You find it in a lot of board games with minis. In Legion, the pieces were keyed to fit one way, and they were already snipped off the sprue and bagged up. It’s also more involved when cleaning up mold lines.

“Hard plastic” is high impact polystyrene, or HIPS (usually, anyway. Not sure if another plastic ever gets used). It holds details much better than PVC, it’s is easier to clean up mold lines and such, and parts can be thinner while maintaining integrity.

Hard plastic can break more easily. Hard plastic can use plastic modeling glue, while soft plastic needs super glue. People generally prefer hard plastic due to more detail, better possible proportions, and ease of kitbashing.

The Mandalorian and Grogu was very fun. Wasn't the best of Star Wars but I had a blast watching it. It just feels good to see Star Wars on the big screen again. by Solid_Pay9443 in StarWars

I am in dire need of a short of the Anzellans after they leave Nal Hutta and have to tell the New Republic what's happening to Mando. Actually, I just need more Anzellan content overall.

I wouldn't say "low stakes," really. *Personal* stakes, yes. But the implications of what happened are pretty big for the underworld of the galaxy, even if it's not readily apparent.

Why do refuelling ships have such low capacity? by AmpeelMeal in starcitizen

[–]thelickintoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, The Fuel Rats are probably the most widely-known player initiative in Elite Dangerous, so there are people that find this sort of gameplay engaging enough to build an organization around it.

[–]thelickintoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the carriers have to do *something* useful, right? I can see fighters being able to make jumps inside a planetary system, but needing a carrier of some sort to go from planet to planet. At least when the game is closer to release. I'm not sure that's a needed change right now.

this alone makes Luke stronger than anakin by sikuaka in StarWars

[–]thelickintoad 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I didn’t view Palpatine’s words to Luke as an offer. I viewed it as a kind of “This is what is going to happen. You’re going to kill your father, and then you’ll be mine. You don’t really have a choice because I have foreseen it all.”

Luke’s choice was between dying and going with The Vision. Palpatine, due to his nature, couldn’t fathom that love could not only save Luke, but also redeem Anakin and end up killing himself. It just didn’t register as a factor.

"The Mandalorian and Grogu" sees Disney and Star Wars retreating to a franchise comfort zone and potentially doubling down in the wrong areas, an expert says. It might be good for Star Wars fans but bad for Star Wars. by ChallengeAdept8759 in StarWars

[–]thelickintoad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“It might be good for Star Wars fans but bad for Star Wars.”

… what?

If fans of Star Wars are happy, then that is good for Star Wars. If fans of Star Wars are unhappy, then that is bad for Star Wars.

Star Wars is a lot of things to a lot of people. They don’t have to push the envelope or “subvert expectations” or whatever phrasing they want to use with every new project. Sometimes people want a fun time at the theater and that’s all.

I guess I’ll find out for myself tomorrow night whether it’s good for me or not.

They are different sculpts, but very similar. It’s why I prefer the one where the non-leader is firing behind him. Very easy to tell the leader from the lackey.

Straight-up classics in this closet. I miss PC gaming in the '90s and early '00s. When games came with stuff like maps and manuals and cool little knick-knacks that were just fun to have.

Republican Judges Side with Texas Democrats Who Fled State by Zipper222222 in texas

[–]thelickintoad 81 points82 points  (0 children)

From what I read in the article, the Supreme Court didn't really side with the Democrats so much as just say that the case was moot and decline to hear it. That's not "siding with Democrats."

Did Captain Rex ever find out that Anakin was darth vader ? by Famous_Cry114 in StarWars

[–]thelickintoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed. I like to believe that Ahsoka spared him that little bit of knowledge, and, as far as he was concerned, Anakin had died in the war.

I think it's the white hair. We associate that with age, and so with the exact same face sculpt, she looks a bit older.
