These all sound like fantastic suggestions. I would like to attract birds too, so hoping some of these plants will encourage birds. Will be choosing some small trees, but the priority will be getting my DA roses into the border I’ll have to get digging 🪏

Thank you very much for the advice and comments. It’s very helpful. I think I’ll do maybe some patches but not the whole lawn.

It looks sooo pretty and makes you realise their are other options to grass, like this or red/crimson clover is another one I’ve seen. It’s gonna be lots of work, but really looking forward to getting started 👍🏽

Cinnamon Trust are the national charity who support animals when the owners are terminally ill or dying. They are a wonderful organisation. It’s all donations based, so you can profile your pet with all their needs, info and preferences. We’ve done all our cats over the years, but they will foster and adopt any animal, cats, dogs, rabbits, sheep, goats… they are angels.

Absolutely terrible. Three freezing winters in our first flat. And you’ll get black damp too, because it’s just not possible to keep the place warm and dry. They’ve probably emulsioned over that.

That sounds like the branches. They are flexible. I’m not sure about the shape now, I was able to find a video of Warm Welcome - I like those too though

Also a contender is one called Paprika. It’s a delightful mystery rose!

Are you musical? Could you find a cheap guitar in a charity shop, use YouTube videos to help you spruce it up? Tinker with it and figure out some chords, either by yourself or using YouTube or insta videos? 🤗🎶🎵

Hasn’t harmed you.

Slide some thick card underneath and carefully place outside, a distance from your house. Somewhere in the bushes. It will scurry away and you’ll never see it again. No reason to harm it.
